(Minghui.org) “'I will harvest your heart, liver and kidneys!' a Chinese police officer threatened my mother, a Falun Gong practitioner. Another one said, 'I will harvest your lungs.'” This encounter was related by Alice Zhang at a downtown Vancouver rally about the organ harvesting threat her mother received during the Chinese New Year in February 2014.
The rally was held a day before Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper's departure for the APEC summit in Beijing. It called for Canada to openly urge the end of the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and release all detained Falun Gong practitioners, including family members of Canadian residents and citizens.
Sue Zhang speaks at the rally on behalf of the local Falun Dafa association.
Alice Zhang recounts her mother's recent illegal arrest and detention in China.
Alice's mother, Tang Huafeng, was visiting a fellow practitioner to celebrate the New Year in February, when seven or eight police officers surrounded her downstairs. Two of the officers made open threats in the residential area as they pushed Ms. Tang into their vehicle.
Local Domestic Security police put her through physical examinations, including a blood test, at the city hospital before sending her to the Jinzhong City Detention Center, according to Ms. Zhang.

Vancouver residents supported the appeal by signing post cards to be mailed to the Prime Minister, asking him to speak up for Falun Gong to the Chinese leaders in Beijing.
Vancouver resident David Anderson immediately signed a post card upon learning about the persecution and the timing of the appeal.
Stefun von Sayn heard about organ harvesting for the first time
Mr. Stefun von Sayn, a resident of Kelowna, is of half Chinese descent, and was shocked to learn that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) profits from harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.
He said, “How can they take organs from living human beings? It's crazy. And they did this to millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China.” He signed a post card and added a remark asking the Prime Minister to raise the human rights issue for Falun Gong, and question the Chinese regime about the crimes of organ harvesting.
Ms. Kanikautley, a resident of Vancouver, condemned the persecution of Falun Gong in China and signed a post card. She was also interested in learning the exercises.
Mr. Li Tao's mother, another resident of Vancouver, is also illegally jailed in China because she is a Falun Gong practitioner.
Li Tao's mother Xin Aixiang was arrested in December 2011 in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. She was tried in court without being allowed to hire a lawyer, and later sentenced to a three-year prison term in February 2013.
“My mother is forced to labor long hours in Xinxiang City Women's Prison in a very harsh environment. Due to the torture and slave labor, her blood pressure became elevated to 200. But the authorities withheld her health situation from her family. They even harassed, beat, and cursed the relatives who visited her,” Mr. Li said.
On his post card addressed to the Prime Minister, he wrote, “The persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese communist regime has lasted 15 years. The persecution of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance must stop immediately. Dear Prime Minister, please speak to Mr. Xi Jinping, the head of the CCP, asking him to stop the persecution and release all jailed Falun Gong practitioners, including my mother.”
