(Minghui.org) When Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gu Zucui's lawyer stepped out of the court after a show trial, he was immediately surrounded by government officials and 610 Office staff.
To intimidate the lawyer for his defending a Falun Gong practitioner, one person grabbed his glasses and stepped on them.
Without saying a word, the lawyer left.
The officials happily said, “If he fights back, we will brutally beat him to the point where he would never dare to come back to Pengzhou.”
The trial took place at Pengzhou City Court on November 12, 2014. The court was heavily guarded by police, plainclothes officers, and personnel from the 610 Office. Practitioners who came to attend the trial were arrested. The number of practitioners arrested is under investigation.
Police cars were parked outside local practitioners' homes to prevent them from attending the trial.
The courtroom was filled with government officials. Anyone who wanted to attend the “open trial” had to check in their IDs, which is an unlawful request by the court.
Ms. Gu Zucui was arrested by 610 Office staff when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in a market on January 6, 2014. She was sent to Aoping Town Police Station where she has been detained for 10 months.
