(Minghui.org) Ms. Dong Zuojie, a nurse from Songjianghe Town, Fusong County, Jilin Province, was illegally arrested on September 3, 2014 by police officers that had followed her into her apartment building. They ransacked her apartment and confiscated several items, including her laptop, an MP3 player, and all her Falun Gong books. They took her to the local police department.
Ms. Dong talked to the police about the benefits she derived from practicing Falun Gong. They said that she would be released in the afternoon. Sun Jianjun, deputy director of the Fusong Domestic Security Division, came to the police department that afternoon. He demanded that they ransack Ms. Dong’s home one more time. They confiscated cell phones and a media player.
Ms. Dong was taken to the Fusong County Hospital for a physical exam required before the Baishan Detention Center would accept her. Her blood pressure reached 220/120 mmHg (normal 120/80). This didn't deter the police from taking her to the detention center, which refused to accept her because of the medical report. She was released on September 4.
She returned to work the following day. The hospital officials took turns talking to her, demanding that she renounce Falun Gong. She refused. They were afraid of losing the 20% annual bonus (performance-related pay that communist authorities hold back from all employees of a work unit if any one of them practices Falun Gong) and they continued to pressure her.
