(Minghui.org) I had dinner in 2005 with a section chief of a police department. He told me he had to go to the hospital to be checked for Hepatitis B. As a doctor, I invited him to have the test done at the hospital where I worked.
I picked him up the next day and took him to the hospital for a blood test. After he had his blood drawn, we sat in the car to chat while waiting for the results.
I started to explain the facts about Falun Gong to him, and told him that the Tiananmen Square "self-immolation" had been staged. He then told me a story.
He said he was chief of a police station after July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. The villages he was in charge of were located near a big reservoir. In the rainy season, the water level of the reservoir rose so quickly it had to be released, flooding the farmers' cultivated lands nearby. No one wanted to let the water flow onto their land and destroy their crops, so everyone piled up mud and rocks around their land to hold the water back.
The village cadres had a meeting to discuss the problem. One cadre told everyone, “I really admire the Falun Gong practitioners. Everyone piled rocks around their land to keep the water out, but a practitioner in my village dug out the edge of his farmland to let the water flow onto her land in order to save the others' crops.”
He also said, “Every year it is a big headache to collect tax and utility payments from the villagers. But the practitioners in my village always pay first.” The cadres then started discussing Falun Gong practitioners, and all agreed that practitioners were very good and sincere people. They could not understand why the CCP wanted to persecute Falun Gong.
I used this opening to persuade him to withdraw from the CCP, and he agreed. When his blood test results came back, all the indicators were close to normal. He was very surprised and happy. He was rewarded right after he understood the truth and withdrew from the CCP!
He was soon transferred to the vehicle administration office as the chief. He helped me a lot when I went to get my vehicle inspected. I took him informational brochures and DVDs, and said, “Please read these brochures and learn the facts. Don't loose the chance to be saved just because you are a police officer.” He accepted the materials and said, “Unlike other police officers, I understand the truth.”
Earlier this year, I had dinner with the chief and his brothers again. They all understand the truth about Falun Dafa. I reminded them to recite, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” The chief immediately had everyone at the dining table say it three times.
I asked him how he was doing after withdrawing from the CCP. He replied, “I am doing very well. I am healthy and I got a promotion at work. My work has been recognized by my superiors. I want to do more good things for people.”
