Former Deputy Director of Weifang Legal Bureau Critically Ill from Torture

(Minghui.org) Ms. Yu Guifang, former deputy director of the Weifang Legal Bureau, has been held at the Jinan Detention Center for more than 90 days, where she has been severely tortured. She is suffering with high blood pressure and a myocardial infarction. Her life is in danger.

Ms. Yu, 76, went to Jinan, Shandong Province on July 2, 2014, to assist her son-in-law, Yang Feng, in preparing a computer tutoring class. She went to visit fellow practitioner Ms. Li Jing, and was illegally arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Tianqiao District Police Department and the Beiyuan Police Station. Ms. Li was also arrested. The police then ransacked Ms. Li's home as well as her mother's home.

Ms. Yu's son-in-law, Yang Feng, was also arrested at the same time, by Huang Jian and several other officers from the Domestic Security Division. The police confiscated two computers and printers, one camera, seven cell phones, and 1,000 yuan in cash. Two fellow practitioners were with Mr. Yang, and were taken to the Daqiao Town Police Station and then transferred to the Dikoulu Police Station.

Ms. Yu purchased several items for Mr. Yang's class that were also confiscated by police. Those items included five computers, hard drives, USB drives, cell phones, and an electric tricycle bike.

Ms. Chen Bingnan, Ms. Yu's daughter, was also arrested by a dozen police officers on July 4, 2014. Her home was ransacked, and the police confiscated three computers, along with Falun Dafa books. The police went to ransack Ms. Yu's home that afternoon.

Ms. Yu, Ms. Li, and Mr. Yan are being held in the Jinan Detention Center, while Ms. Chen is in the Weifang Detention Center. Ms. Yu's 15 year-old granddaughter is now home alone with no adult to care for her.
