(Minghui.org) Ms. Qu Jing, a Falun Gong practitioner in Guiyang City, was illegally arrested on the night of November 8, 2012. She has now been detained for more than a year and is about to be tried.

Her mother, Qu Yuxiang, passed away as a result of the persecution of Falun Gong. She had been sentenced to three years of forced labor in March 2001 and suffered severe bodily harm. She was granted bail in September 2003. However, Ms. Qu's mom never recovered from the abuse she was subjected to in the forced labor camp, and her condition deteriorated until her death on July 10, 2011.

Ms. Qu Jing was persecuted many times and detained in forced labor camps and prison for a total of five and a half years. After her arrest this time, her feeble 76-year-old father went to the local police station, the Procuratorate, and the court several times, to try to find her. He finally learned that his daughter was being detained in the Nanming District Detention Center of Guiyang City. Files containing fabricated “evidence” against her have now been sent to Nanming District Court.

Illegal Detention, Forced Labor and Sentencing

Ms. Qu Jing has suffered repeated arrests, forced labor and imprisonment since July 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong.

Ms. Qu is 39-years-old this year. She used to work at Hebin Hotel in Guiyang City. She is known for her kind nature and always took very good care of her parents.

She began practicing Falun Gong in 1993, while in college, and afterwards became even more warmhearted and was always ready to help others. She was well-liked by her classmates and teachers. She was also a top student in academic studies.

Ms. Qu Jing was arrested at a practitioner's house on February 3, 2001 by Liu Zhiqiang, head of the Shuikousi Police Station and more than ten other officers. That evening she was taken to the Nanming District Detention Center.

A month later, she was taken to the Zhongba Women's Forced Labor Camp in Guiyang City for two years of forced labor, and was detained there until August 3, 2002.

She was again arrested by the Guiyang City Police Department on September 3, 2003, and after being detained in the Guiyang No. 1 Detention Center for over a month, she was sentenced to four years in prison by Xiaohe District Court. Ms. Qu appealed to Guiyang Intermediate Court, but the court dismissed her appeal and sustained the original judgment.

Ms. Qu was detained in Yang'ai Prison where she suffered inhuman torture. She was beaten black and blue all over and was subjected to brutal force-feeding several times. She was tied to a bed for several days and nights in hot weather. Her shoulders were soaked in spilled liquid food and covered with maggots.

Inmates used a filthy mop to mop her body. They also wrapped her up in a blanket and beat her violently. The floor was covered with her blood. The guards turned a blind eye while all this was happening. Her life was in grave danger several times due to abuse and she became so emaciated that she could hardly walk steadily.

After she was released, Ms. Qu quickly regained her health from practicing Falun Gong. However, her family was struggling financially because the Hebin Hotel had terminated her work contract in 2000 due to the persecution.

Officers from the Xihulu Police Station broke into her house and arrested her again around midnight on November 8, 2012. They also took away her Falun Gong books, computer, DVD burner and other personal belongings.

This is the third time Ms. Qu has been arrested. She is being detained at the Nanming District Detention Center.
