(Minghui.org) My name is Zhang Quping, and I am a former deputy regiment police officer who became a Falun Dafa practitioner. I would like to share my extraordinary experiences after learning Falun Dafa, as well as being harassed by the 610 Office.
Living with Chronic Illness
In 1988, I was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B and in 1989, I was hospitalized for more than six months in the Beijing No. 302 Military Hospital. By 1990, I was diagnosed with early-stage cirrhosis of the liver.
During eight years of illness, I had to take medicine daily, even on those days when I could not even eat. I was usually hospitalized several times a year. My health situation gradually declined. My immune system was very weak and I caught colds easily. In addition, I had to stay away from friends, neighbors, and the public in general because of my contagious disease. Once, I needed to go to my office, but my boss told me to stay at home and contact them only by phone. When I was at home, my wife told me to not touch anything the kids would use, and I was not allowed to cook.
I often felt very isolated and became unsociable and eccentric. Once my wife asked me to go shopping with her. The shopping mall was over five miles away and there was no public transportation. So, I had to ride on the rear seat of her bicycle and watch her pedal all the way to the mall. As a man, I was embarrassed about my weakness.
I once said to a friend, “I am busying taking medicine while my colleagues are getting promotions!” The disease had dashed all my hopes. I saw myself as a gifted college graduate who had become a burden to my family and society. I was close to a nervous breakdown and I did not want to live anymore.
Discovering Falun Dafa
To fight my illness, I kept reading medical books, looking for good doctors and folk prescriptions, and I became almost an expert on liver disease. I hung up drawings and affirmations around my bed to keep my spirits up. At the suggestion of my ward mates, I tried four different kinds of Qigong, although I did not even believe in Chinese medicine, let along Qigong. In addition, I spent over 1000 yuan to live in a Qigong treatment center in Hubei Province. I once said I would dedicate my whole life to anyone who could cure me!

On a memorable day in October 1996, I started practicing Falun Dafa. Soon, my situation greatly improved! I had a better appetite, improved sleep, and much more energy. I could not only go outside for fresh air, but also ride a bicycle in the winter. I am now totally cured, and it did not cost me a cent! I have not had to take any drugs or visit a doctor since 1997. How else could this happen!? Only Falun Dafa could have brought about such an amazing outcome!
In addition, I recovered from other health problems, such as neuroses, arthritis, indigestion and chronic pharyngitis. My eyesight has improved and I can now read without glasses. My coworkers always surprisingly say, “Ah! You are glowing with health!” My wife said, “I thought I would lose you and become a widow one day. It is a miracle that you are saved and have come back to life!”
Falun Dafa Is Really a Superior Science
Falun Dafa is a supernatural science. It is beyond the current modern science. People who are interested should read the book Zhuan Falun by Mr. Li Hongzhi to know more about it. There are over 100 million people practicing Falun Dafa, and there must be a reason. The Chinese state-run media attempts to slander Falun Dafa. A wise person will listen to both sides before believing either to be the truth. Do not be fooled by what you may hear!
Since I now know the reason behind illness and the goal of a life, I follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to become a good person. I am no long concerned with just trying to make a profit. I became generous and gracious and always consider others before myself. Once, an owner of a printing shop gave me two boxes of prawns and two fish as gifts for the New Year. I paid him back 200 yuan and told him that, as a Falun Dafa practitioner, I cannot accept any gifts from my clients. He said with emotion, “It is rare to meet a righteous person like you nowadays!”
Harassed by the 610 Office
On two occasions, July 2010 and June 2011, I was harassed by both the 610 Office and my local community. They attempted to force me to write a guarantee statement that I would stop practicing Falun Dafa. I told them, “I am becoming a better person. What do you want me to change into? You want to force me to turn into a bad person or promise not to be a healthy person? Because Falun Dafa saved my life, you would be taking away my life if you stop me from practicing Falun Dafa! ”
I hope everyone can understand the truth and walk away from the evil by withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I sincerely hope that my story will help others to understand the truth and thus choose a bright future for themselves.
