Additional Persecution News from China – December 17, 2013 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Yichang, Hubei Province] Ms. Xue Houmei Detained

Ms. Xie Houmei is retired from the Gezhouba Base Administration Office in the Xiling District of Yichang. Zhou Xiangdong and officers from the Domestic Security Division of Pinghu Police Department arresed her when she went out for groceries on October 23, 2013. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Xie was held at the Yichang No. 1 Detention Center. Her term was extended by 37 days after she was held for 30 days.

2. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Eight Falun Gong Practitioners Detained

Officers from the Shenhe District Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Xu Shuhua, Ms. Zheng Shuping, Ms. Li Yingqin, Ms. Li Yihong, Ms. Luo Fengying, and Ms. Wan Xiulan and six other practitioners on December 11, 2013. They were taken to the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Luo, Ms. Wan and two other practitioners were released that same day.

3. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Wei Sentenced

Mr. Li Wei was arrested by officers from the Changchun Police Department on June 4, 2013. He was recently sentenced to prison.

4. [Urumqi, Xinjiang] Ms. Zhang Youfu Detained

Ms. Zhang Youfu was arrested by officers from the Anningqu Police Station when she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to her students in class. She is being held at the Liudaowan Detention Center.

5. [Urumqi, Xinjiang] Three Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Xu Yuannian, 47, and Ms. Wang Hui, 53, were arrested on August 19, 2012. Mr. Xu was held at the Xishan Detention Center, and Ms. Wang was held at the Shuimogou Detention Center. Ms. Liu Yuhua, 51, was arrested on November 5, 2012.

The Shayibake District Court illegally put them on trial on September 13, 2013. Mr. Xu was sentenced to five years of imprisonment; Ms. Wang, four years; and Ms. Liu, one year with two years probation.

6. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Four Falun Gong Practitioners Detained

Ms. Peng Qunxian, Ms. Xia Wenlun, Ms. Meng Ling, and Ms. Sanmei were arrested by the local police on December 11, 2013. They are being held at the Pujiang County Detention Center.

7. [Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia] Four Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengying and Ms. Gao Li and her daughter, Gao Mingyuan, were arrested by the local police when they spoke to people about Falun Gong at a farmer's market in Shifo Village, Bisiyingzi Township, Ningcheng County on December 15, 2013.

Ms. Zhao Yuhong was arrested on December 11, 2013, and released the same day.
