Shijiazhuang City: Ms. Qi Xiangcai Arrested While Stopping by a Friend's Home

(Minghui.org) Ms. Qi Xiangcai, 43, was caught up in the mass arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in Shijiazhuang City on November 15, 2013.

That morning when she stopped by the home of Ms. Bai Caiping, she saw the place was surrounded and stood nearby to see what was going on. She was arrested and taken to the Second Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City. She is still being detained.

Over 20 Practitioners Arrested

Around 5 or 6 a.m. that morning, police from the 610 Office, the Shijiazhuang City Police Department, and the Domestic Security Division arrested more than 20 practitioners in the city and the nearby area. It was a planned, large scale arrest that affected several dozen families.

According to an informed source, authorities have been tapping phones, using surveillance cameras, and following practitioners. The arrests targeted practitioners who gave away free 2014 calendars that had Falun Gong information on them.

Ms. Bai Caiping, who used to be an accountant for the Textile Trade Company of Hebei Province, was arrested but has already returned home because she had hypertension. Police officers Li Yong and Bai Xueying have already harassed her again.

Ms. Qi Only a Bystander

However, Ms. Qi, who was merely watching what was going on, is still detained.

The police hid near Ms. Bai's home at around 4 a.m. When a family member opened the door, the police rushed in and ransacked the home. They arrested Ms. Bai, who is in her 50s, and confiscated her ebook reader. Many elderly people and women who lived nearby were terrified. Neighbors stood around for a long time and watched what was happening.

Ms. Qi happened to stop by after her printer was repaired nearby. She was just a bystander, but because she had a printer with her, the police arrested her.

Liu Ruijun and Wang Zhigang from the Lianmenglu Police Station ransacked her home at noon, and then they took Ms. Qi to the Second Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City. She has been detained there ever since. Her child, who is still in middle school, misses her very much and cannot study.

Ms. Qi started to practice Falun Gong in 1997 and diligently lived according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person. She soon became very healthy.

When her employer went bankrupt, she stayed home to take care of her child and mother-in-law, who was frequently hospitalized, and also helped in her husband's business.

We ask for help to rescue Ms. Qi Xiangcai.
