(Minghui.org) On August 25, 2013, the Falun Gong Club in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, helped welcome new students to the campus during the school's annual Quad Day. The Falun Dafa booth caught the attention of many international Chinese students.

Students and faculty members sign petition to support House Resolution 281

During the event, many students and faculty members signed a petition in support of House Resolution 281, calling on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

The majority of the incoming American students did not know about Falun Gong, but agreed that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good principles for people to follow.

“This is really horrible,” said one student after hearing about the CCP's inhumane practice of live organ harvesting, “This organ harvesting must stop! I hope my signature can make a difference.”

Chinese students learn the facts

Many Chinese students walked over to the Falun Gong booth and asked for informational materials about the persecution in China.

A girl from China brought up the so-called Tiananmen self-immolation incident, saying that many people knew that Falun Gong was framed and persecuted. “I am patriotic but I do not like the CCP,” she said.

Some Chinese students said that before coming to the United States, they were well aware of the true situation in China. They talked about how they had regularly used special programs to break through the Party's information blockade.

A Chinese student talked to a practitioner about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. When the practitioner told him about the Chinese regime's practice of live organ harvesting, he said that he, too, had read some research reports on the atrocity. “I can't understand why some Chinese people refuse to believe that this crime against humanity is taking place in China,” he told the practitioner.

Two female students from China nervously walked past the Falun Gong booth. When a practitioner explained to them what Falun Gong is, and that there were no politics involved in what the practitioners do, they accepted some information materials and said that they would learn more about the practice online.
