(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gu Jiushou, 74, is a retired engineer from Chongqing University. He was illegally arrested on the morning of July 14, 2013, and taken to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center. He developed high blood pressure while being held at the brainwashing center. Brainwashing center staff force-fed and injected him with unknown drugs on August 15. They also threatened Mr. Gu, “You will bear all the expenses incurred here if you don't 'transform.'”
The brainwashing center has been trying to force Mr. Gu to write the three statements using hard and soft tactics. Mr. Gu is bedridden because of severe back pain, and he refuses to cooperate with the persecutors. The brainwashing center authorities called in guard Gao Ding from Xishanping Forced Labor Camp to try to “transform” Mr. Gu. Gao Ding has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners for more than a decade and is notorious for his brutal methods. The brainwashing center personnel threatened Mr. Gu that if he does not write the three statements, he has three choices: being sent to a labor camp, having his pension suspended, or bearing all the expenses related to his stay in the brainwashing center.
Mr. Gu was reported while handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in a farmers market in the Shapingba District. Several thugs rushed over and violently beat him. Mr. Gu was so badly beaten that he became incontinent and suffered a back injury.
After the beating, Shijingpo Police Station officers took Mr. Gu, who was badly injured, to the police station. They later transferred him to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center located at Gele Mountain. Liu Deming of the Shapingba Street Office signed the paperwork.
