Additional Persecution News from China – September 6, 2013 (22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 19 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 40 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Jin Changmei, Ms. Jin Changdi, Ms. Jin Yunfei and Ms. Sun Yuqin were arrested at their residences by five officers including Hu Renquan from Qiqihar City Police Department Tiefeng Branch on the evening of September 3, 2013. Their computers, printers, many copies of Falun Gong books and cash of over 30,000 yuan were confiscated. They are being held in the Tielu Detention Center of Qiqihar City.

2. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Ruiying and Ms. Du Xuejun Released on Medical Parole

Ms. Zhang Ruiying is a retired employee at Qianxi County Commerce Department. While being held in the Tangshan City No.1 Detention Center, she became blind and had to rely on support from two people in order to walk. She was released on medical parole in the middle of July 2013.

Ms. Du Xuejun is a teacher at the Qianxi County No. 1 Middle School. While being held in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center, her hysteromyoma grew bigger and a lump developed in her breast. She was released on medial parole in the middle of August 2013 and had a hysterectomy operation and a lumpectomy operation in the Tangshan City People's Hospital.

Mr. Li Deshan, arrested on August 15, 2013, is being held in the Weifang City Detention Center.

4. [Puyang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Tried

The Puyang City Police Department authorities recently brought an accusation against Ms. Chen Hengfang, Ms. Liu Hua, Ms. Ni Jinzhi and Ms. Yu to the Hualong District Procuratorate.

5. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Lu Mengjun, Ms. Liu Liyan and Ms. Zhang Xingqi Arrested

Ms. Lu Mengjun and Ms. Liu Liyan were arrested in Shebu Town, Xiangtan County on September 2, 2013.

Over ten agents from the Xiangtan City 610 Office and the Yuhu Police Department barged into Ms. Lu's home the following afternoon, rummaged through chests and cupboards and confiscated over 500 yuan cash, a paper cutting knife and more. They told Ms. Lu's elderly father, in his 80s, and her elderly mother, in her 70s, that their daughter had been taken to the Ningxiang County Detention Center in Changsha City.

Ms. Zhang Xingqi was arrested by over ten agents including Li Shaotie from the Yuhu District 610 Office and officers from the Yuhu Police Department on the afternoon of September 3, 2013. She was taken to the Wujia Garden Brainwashing Center.

6. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Rujiang Held in Detention Center

Mr. Wang Rujiang, an employee at the Mudanjinag Railway Bureau, was arrested by three plainclothes officers from the bureau's public security section on the morning of August 29, 2013. They tricked him into opening his home door, then took him away. Four agents ransacked Mr. Wang's home next day and tricked Mr. Wang's wife into putting her signature on a blank sheet of paper. Mr. Wang is being held in the Room 5, Mudanjiang No. 2 Detention Center.

Mr. Gao Fang was arrested near the apartment building where he lives on the morning of September 4, 2013.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qu Bin Arrested and Home Ransacked

Cao Xunbing from the Dalian City 610 Office and officers from the Qingniwaqiao Police Station arrested Mr. Qu Bin on his way to work on the morning of August 30, 2013.

Officers forced Mr. Qu's son into a car when he was going to school, asked for his parent's workplaces and phone numbers, and demanded his house key. They then barged into Mr. Qu's home and confiscated cash to the value of 3,700 yuan, a laptop computer, two desktop computers, 13 Falun Gong books, 12 set-top boxes and equipment for satellite dish installation, and a power drill. The satellite dish installed at his home was dismantled.

10. [Jinyang, Guizhou Province] Ms. Song Xiaomei Detained

Ms. Song Xiaomei, and her husband went to a train station to see their son off to a different province for school related studies. Her ID card was examined at the train station ticket checker and she was then detained by several dozen agents from Guizhou Province Police Department, State Security bureau and the 610 Office. Ms. Song's elder sister, who was not a practitioner and was also seeing her nephew off with Ms. Song, was detained as well. Ms. Song's mother came to the train station with her youngest daughter after learning the news. The mother and three daughters argued with the officers at the station asking for reasons for the arrests. The officers then took all of them to Ms. Song's home and ransacked it. Ms. Song was released that evening.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Pang Zengyuan Arrested

Mr. Pang Zengyuan from Zhuangjiatuan Village, Zhangjialou Town, Jiaonan, Qingdao City, in his 70s, was arrested by officers from the Zhangjialou Police Station for talking about Falun Gong on the morning of September 5, 2013. He is being held in the Zhangjialou Police Station.

12. [Yanan City, Shaanxi Province] Family of Three Missing

Mr. Cao Huashan, his wife and their daughter have been missing for five or six days. In the past, Mr. Cao was arrested and sent to forced labor camps many times. His wife Ms. Li Shulian was also arrested, sent to forced labor camps or prisons many times. The family has been through harassment and threatening over a prolonged period, which caused huge mental and physical damage to the daughter Ms. Cao Xingxin, who is not able to walk or take care of herself.

Ms. Xin Suying and Ms. Yang Lingling from Kalaqin Town, Jianping County were arrested at their homes by officers from the Kalaqin Town Police Station on the morning of September 5, 2013.

15. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xiang Xiumin Arrested

Ms. Xiang Xiumin, 46, was arrested at her workplace in Longgang District, Shenzhen City on July 18, 2013. She is being held in the Longgang District Detention Center. Officers confiscated a laptop computer and two Falun Gong books from her home. Her case is being processed in the Longgang District Court and she is facing a trial soon.

16. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Lixia Held in Siping City Detention Center

Ms. Wang Lixia, in her 40s, was arrested in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia on May 11, 2013 and taken to the Siping City Detention Center by officers from the Gongzhuling City Police Department. Ms. Wang had been forced to move from place to place to avoid the arrest since she was listed as wanted by the police in 2007. Her husband had no choice but to divorce her. The whereabouts of their only daughter Ms. Xia Ting is unknown. Ms. Wang is now suffering from severe heart disease and neurosis, and she weighs about only 30 kilograms (66 lbs).

17. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Ye Chunyan and Ms. Liu Xiaoying Arrested

Ms. Ye Chunyan and Ms. Liu Xiaoying were arrested by officers from the Huashan Police Station and taken to the Wuhua Detention Center for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the morning of September 3, 2013. Officers ransacked their homes and confiscated two computers, two printers, a mobile disk drive, a usb disk, a large quantity of informational materials about Falun Gong, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, anti-Internet-blockage software, and more. They are being held in then Kunming City No. 1 Detention Center.

18. [Dachang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Ruilian Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

The Dachang County Court sentenced Ms. Ma Ruilian to three years in prison in mid or late August, 2013.

Ms. Ma, about 66, was arrested for explaining facts about Falun Gong to the public in Dachang County on May 10, 2013, when she was visiting her daughter in the County. She was held in a local detention center. Officers found a lot of Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs at her daughter's home and as a result, her daughter was also arrested. After extorting 40,000 yuan, they released the daughter.

19. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Huijie Still in Custody

Ms. Zhu Huijie from Chengkou County, former teacher at the Chengkou County Primary School, was taken to the Chengkou Detention Center before May 13, 2013 by agents from the Chengkou County 610 Office and Chengkou County State Security Bureau. Fifteen days ago, guards beat and injured her lower back and other parts. She is still being held in the Chengkou County Detention Center.

20. [Ningxiang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Peng Liang Arrested

Mr. Peng Liang was arrested at home by agents from the local 610 Office and State Security Bureau on September 2, 2013. His home was ransacked. We learned that he was taken to the Laodaohe Law Education Center in Changsha City, which is actually a brainwashing center.

21. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Twenty-four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wu Chaoqian, Mr. Wu Jinan and Mr. Chen Jinshu from Dongchuan District were arrested by officers from the Menggu Town Police Station on the morning of August 31, 2013 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Menggu Town, Qiaojia County. They were taken to the Qiaojia County Detention Center that afternoon.

Officers from Qiaojia County and the Dongchuan District Police Station ransacked Mr. Wu Chaoqian's rented residence on the afternoon of September 4. The landlord was also a practitioner and 24 practitioners were reading Falun Gong books at the landlord's home at that time. The officers found this out, then called more officers to come. Several dozen officers arrived and took all 24 practitioners to the Xincun Police Station, Dabei Police Station and Bigu Police Station. The majority of practitioners were released at around 5 a.m. the next day.

Ms. Gu Zhonglan, Ms. Liu Rong and landlord Ms. Guo Youzhi were taken to the Kunming City Detention Center. Ms. Chen Guizhen, Ms. Li Shuzhen, Mr. Tang Weiwu and Ms. Guo Youzhen are being held in the Dabei Police Station.

22. [Chengdu City, Sichuan] Arrest Warrant Issued to Mr. Wang Liping

Mr. Wang Liping, an employee at a primary school in Wuhou District, was arrested for talking about Faun Gong to his students in the middle of June 2013. An arrest warrant was issued to him on July 26, 2013.
