Ms. Qi Fengmin Detained for Five Months, Family Visits Denied
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qi Fengmin in Heilongjiang Province was illegally arrested in Baicheng City, Jilin Province. She was taken to Guangming Police Station and kept for more than five months. To date her family still cannot visit her.
During this time, Ms. Qi’s case was turned over to Zhaobei District Court in Baicheng City. Ms. Qi’s family found a lawyer in Beijing to defend her innocence.
On July 17, 2013, Ms. Qi was tried. Despite the lawyer's defense, she was found guilty, and the trial was adjourned.
On July 20, an officer from Tongyu County Detention Center called Ms. Qi’s daughters and told them that their mother was sick. He told them to deposit funds to pay for for their mother's medical exam. The girls were still in school and don’t have any money, so they had to ask their relatives for help.
On July 23, Ms. Qi’s relatives went to the detention center but were not allowed to visit her. They were only allowed to deposit money. Then her family went to the Tongyun Town Hospital. Officer Sun Gang and the prison doctor stopped them from talking to her. They took Ms. Qi away and her family was told nothing about her condition. One month has passed and her family still cannot see her. Her two daughters are on their own.
In early September, Ms. Qi’s family went to court and asked that she be released. Zhang Enyou, the one in charge of her case, refused to see them. He said on the phone, “We are still working on, it so go home and wait.” Later, her family went to Zhaobei District 610 Office in Baicheng City and found head Si Ma. He issued a tough message: “Wait till the court completes everything!” They refused to release Ms. Qi.
It is urgent that Ms. Qi be rescued. No matter where you are, in China or overseas, your help is needed.
