Additional Persecution News from China – September 5, 2013 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Neng Detained

Ms. Zhang Neng was arrested at home around August 15, 2013. She was sent to the Jiaozuo Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Fan Jirong Hospitalized Due to Abuse in Detention

Ms. Fan Jirong’s health has deteriorated due to the abuse she has faced in detention since July 18, 2013. She had been detained in the Changping Detention Center for 37 days before police issued an official arrest warrant on August 24, 2013. She was transferred to the Beijing Detention Center on the same day.

Ms. Fan's blood pressure shot up to 240 mmHg and her heart rate was over 200 while in detention. She was then sent to the Police Hospital, where she remains today.

3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Guixuan Arrested

Ms. Wang Guixuan, in her 60s, was arrested by officers from the Jianshedajie Police Station on the afternoon of September 3, 2013, while speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the police station.

4. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Police Attempt to Arrest Mr. Yang Chenghua

Cong Diansheng from the Chaluhe Town Police Station, Gao Wei from the town government, and two other police officers attempted to arrest Mr. Yang Chenghua on the morning of September 3, 2013. They came to Mr. Yang’s workplace, but he was not there; only his daughter-in-law was on site. They stayed at Mr. Yang’s workplace for a while, but eventually left.

5. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Xuehui Detained

A female practitioner was arrested on September 1, 2013, while distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Soon thereafter, Mr. Li Xuehui was arrested at the practitioner’s home while helping her family. Officers from the Shiqiaozi Police Station made the arrest and subsequently ransacked Mr. Li's home. Mr. Li is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

6. [Haiyan City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Chen Yan and Her Parents Arrested

Ms. Chen Yan and her parents were arrested at home and taken to the local police department on August 28, 2013. Before the arrest, police forced them to provide fingerprints, claiming that they were needed for new identification cards.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Renguo Detained

Mr. Wang Renguo was arrested at home by the director of the Shahekou Police Station (surname You) and officers from the Dalian City Police Department on the morning of August 30, 2013. He is being held at the Yaojia Detention Center.

8. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dong Lixiang Arrested

Ms. Dong Lixiang was arrested at home by a dozen officers from the Yushu City Police Department's Domestic Security Division in the early morning of September 3, 2013. Police jumped over her fence and barged into her home to arrest her.

Ms. Dong and her 82-year-old mother attempted to help the police understand the facts about Falun Gong, but they were not willing to listen. A big officer without a uniform grabbed the mother’s wrists, while other officers arrested Ms. Dong. Ms. Dong may now be held in a detention center (confirmation pending).

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fu Ying Detained

Ms. Fu Ying was arrested at home by officers from the Liaohe Police Station in Huang Gu District on the afternoon of August 30, 2013. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and printer. Ms. Fu was taken to the Liaohe Police Station and then transferred to the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center, also known as the Zaohua Detention Center.

10. [Baiquan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Shuxia Forced to Stay Away from Home

Ms. Xu Shuxia, 64, has been harassed by police many times since July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong. She was forced to leave home in February 2002 to avoid arrest and has not returned since. Agents from the county government and police station still go to her home to harass her family and ask about her whereabouts.

11. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xue Luyang Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Xue Luyang was arrested at home by officers from the Dongguan Police Station and the Pi County Hepingjie Police Station on the morning of August 23, 2013. He was sent to the Nanchong City Brainwashing Center.

12. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shao Jianhui Arrested

Mr. Shao Jianhui was arrested by Zhang Yajun, director of the Yangzhangzi Town Police Station, and instructor Zhang Yunbin on the morning of September 4, 2013. They confiscated his personal belongings. Mr. Shao is being held at the Yangzhangzi Town Police Station.

13. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Yuqin and Ms. Meng Ling Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yuqin was arrested by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of September 3, 2013. Ms. Meng Ling was arrested by officers from the same division a week earlier. The two practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Jirong and Ms. Guo Sufen Harassed

While Ms. Zhang Jirong distributed materials about the persecution Falun Gong, a woman chased her and attempted to take a picture of her. Ms. Zhang left the area immediately. At 3 p.m. the next afternoon, Yu Wanqi and four other agents from the Banan District 610 Office came to Ms. Zhang's home and confiscated 50 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.

Ms. Guo Sufen was harassed at home by Liu Jianlin from the Banan District Lianshi Police Station on August 26, 2013. He forced Ms. Guo to sign his report.

15. [Luotian City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tang Chunzhi Arrested

Ms. Tang Chunzhi was arrested by officers from the Luotian City Police Department and 610 Office on the morning of September 3, 2013. She has not been released and might have been transferred to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center (confirmation pending).

Ms. Qiao Zhiying was arrested by officers from the Dayu Police Station two weeks ago, while speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Mentougou District Police Station.
