(Minghui.org) A signature collection drive was held in Hindmarsh Park in South Australia on July 27, 2013. It was initiated by a group of Falun Gong practitioners to raise awareness about the brutal persecution of peaceful Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Passersby were asked to sign a petition to help stop the CCP's atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

The signatures collected will be submitted to the Australian government.

Group practice

A practitioner talks with a young mother about Falun Gong

Falun Gong practitioners began the day's activities with morning group practice. Their gentle movements accompanied by the peaceful exercise music attracted many passersby, who came to watch.

People read the display boards, which contained information about Falun Gong and the persecution. Some talked with practitioners and expressed their wishes to learn more about the persecution. After they learned of the CCP's brutality, including harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners while they are still alive, they signed the petition calling for an end to this atrocity.

This was the first time that one Australian man in his twenties had heard about the persecution of Falun Gong. He immediately signed the petition and expressed his sincere gratitude to the practitioner for letting him know the facts.

A young man from South Korea showed great sympathy for Falun Gong practitioners after he learned about the CCP's live organ harvesting atrocities. He said that he felt it was very important to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and he supported practitioners in their efforts to call for an end to these criminal acts.

Two elderly couples who came to Australia a year ago from China initially had a negative attitude towards the practitioners and the activity. However, after a practitioner compassionately and patiently explained the facts about the persecution, their attitudes greatly changed, and they took many informational materials about Falun Gong home with them.
