Additional Persecution News from China – August 17, 2013 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 4 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Jiangsu Women's Forced Labor Camp, also known as Jurong Women’s Labor Camp, was recently closed. The detainees were supposed to be released, but Ms. Wang Zhixia, 45, Ms. Zhang Alian, 45, and Ms. He Wei, 61, are still being held.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Fang and Her Sister-in-Law Detained

Ms. Luo Fang and her sister-in-law were arrested on August 11, 2013, for distributing materials containing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Qionglai City Tudipo Detention Center.

3. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Huang Zhaoxia, Ms. Wu Yuehong, Mr. Chen Jianyong, and Ms. Xiong Xiaoxia were arrested at Ms. Huang's home on the morning of April 1, 2013. Police officers confiscated their computer, printer, recorder, money, and personal belongings. They are being held in the Guchengwan Detention Center.

4. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Lu Xiaowei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Lu Xiaowei was arrested on August 12, 2013, and sent to the Changchun City Fenjin Brainwashing Center.

5. [Xinhua County, Hunan Province] Mr. Yuan Guoqing and Mr. Yuan Xinxiang Detained

Mr. Yuan Guoqing and Mr. Yuan Xinxiang were arrested on the morning of August 14, 2013, when they were distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong at Changfeng Market. They will be held in the Xinhua County Domestic Security Division for 15 days.

7. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shang Libo Detained

Ms. Shang Libo, around 31, was arrested by officers from the Shuangshan No. 1 Police Station on the evening of August 13, 2013. She was caught by Han Yongji, deputy director of the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Department, while she was placing flyers about the persecution of Falun Gong on walls. She is being held in the Zhangqiu City Detention Center.
