(Minghui.org) Mr. Liu Qingsheng of Harbin and his mother, who is blind and in her 70s, depended on each other. Heilongjiang Province 610 Office arrested Mr. Liu at home on December 31, 2011 and sentenced him to three years. He is incarcerated in Hulan Prison and not allowed family visits or phone calls. His mother is in tears all the time.

Mr. Liu, in his early 50s, lives in the Daowai District in Harbin City. He was a martial arts student and involved with a gang. After he practiced Falun Gong, he understood the difference between good and evil, and stopped his gang involvement. He instead chose an impoverished life. Mr. Liu is unmarried and lives with his blind mother. He only did part time work so he would have enough time to take care of his mother.

At around 5 a.m. on December 31, 2011, Harbin City Public Security Bureau, sub-bureau, and police station staff of every district were ordered to arrest Falun Gong practitioners on a blacklist. These illegal arrests were premeditated and code named named “zero action,” which means the raid was to take place before midnight on January 1, 2012. At least 39 practitioners were arrested. They were persecuted because they refused to give up their belief. Many of them were tortured until they were in a life-threatening situation. That did not stop the police, who had no qualms abut endangering the practitioners' lives and took them to prisons and forced labor camps.

In Hulan Prison, because he refused to be "transformed," he was brutally tortured.

Mr. Liu has only met with his family once after he was taken to the intensive training team of Hulan Prison. Because he did not give up his belief in Falun Dafa, he has no legal rights and cannot meet with or call his family.
