Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shupei from Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province was arrested by Beijing police for honestly answering his question and sent to a forced labor camp for 2-1/2 years in May 2012.

While being detained at the Daxing Forced Labor Camp of Beijing, she was secretly given an unknown drug in her food that damages the central nervous system. She was persecuted by the police. When she exposed the police's scheme to poison her, the police openly admitted it.

Ms. Wang was persecuted so severely that she had to be released on medical parole in May 2013. Prior to her arrest, Ms. Wang has been consistently persecuted for her practice of Falun Gong. She was arrested at least 8 times and imprisoned for 6 years. While in jail, she was persecuted by prison guards who tried to destroy her with drugs. The following tells Ms. Wang's experience and exposes her persecution.

This is an account of persecution against me by Dongcheng custody, Dongcheng Detention Center and Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing:

A Beijing policeman said, “I will lock you up for 7 days because of your honesty”

I went to Beijing to pick up my disabled cousin to bring her back home on April 3, 2012. On my way there, I brought a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party , several copies of Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, and a petition letter with me. I planned to return home on April 6, at 4PM.

On the morning of April 6, I went out for a walk and stopped at a bookstall on Dongcheng Road. I saw two patrolmen reading some Buddhist books at the stand and curiously asked them, “Do you believe in Buddhas?” They said, “Yes,” and asked me, “How about you?” I said, “Me too.” They asked me, “Do you believe in Falun Gong?” I said, “Sure! Please remember Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Without giving me any chance to further clarify what I meant, they used what I said as evidence to arrest me to the Dongcheng Police Department.

They started to interrogate me after they took me to the police department. They asked where I was from and why I came to Beijing. I told them the truth. They asked me where I got the copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and who gave it to me. I told them I bought it from home, and that everyone was reading the book. I said that I was going to go to the Complaint Bureau, and I plan to bring it along with me to give them a copy. I told them that I did not break any law and they must release me. They lied to me that they would release in the afternoon. The next day at 8AM, they transferred me to Dongcheng Detention Center. I asked why they still kept me. They said, “Because you speak the truth. That's why we will keep you for another seven days.”

After seven days, they said they would release me fifteen days later. Then they told me they would release me in one month. When one month was due, they did not release me but transferred me to another detention center. I started to have severe morbidity. My hemoglobin was only 3.3 grams. The guards lied to me and said, “You can practice the exercises here if you want. No one cares. We will release you in several days.” The truth was, they sent me to a forced labor camp where I served 2 ½ years. I refused to take the summon from the forced labor camp and didn't eat or drink for two days and nights.

Torture Enactment: Barbaric Force-Feeding

On the third day, they force-fed me. When I found out they put an unknown drug in my food for force-feeding, I resolutely resisted and exposed their dirty tricks to persecute me. They tortured me physically and psychologically, as a result, my weight dropped to 34 kg. Despite my life being endangered, the police transferred me to Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing on July 26, 2012 to escalate the persecution.

The Notorious “Strict-Supervision Unit”: 16 Hours of Corporal Punishment a Day

Daxing Forced Labor Camp of Beijing have six units: Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, Unit 4, Unit 7, and the Training Unit. Unit 7 was used as a rehabilitation center. The other five units were used to detain Falun Gong practitioners. New detainees must be taken to Unit 4 first, which is also known as the “Strict-Supervision Unit”. Inmates called it a dreadful “Gate of Hell.”

When I first entered the “Strict-Supervision Unit,” I heard hoarse shoutings almost everyday. Inmates there were forced to say hello to the guards. They must keep their heads down at all times and could not look up. One's human dignity and rights were completely stripped. Inmates were turned into dutiful tamers who could not distinguish right from wrong.

When a Falun Gong practitioner is admitted to the “Strict-Supervision Unit,” the guards ordered two inmates to monitor her 24 hours a day. The new practitioner entering is forced to sit on a small bench from 6AM to 10PM. The practitioner must close her legs, with hands on her knee while sitting on the little bench. She is not allowed to talk, stand or move around. If she does not cooperate, the two inmates will go up to her and start hitting and kicking her.

It has often happened when practitioners try to clarify the facts to people, the guards would order the prisoners to gag a piece of dirty rag used for the toilet into their mouths. Eating, washing and using the bathroom must take place at a certain time and place, usually only five minutes was given to complete all these. Practitioners would get scold, insulted or abused if they were not fast enough. The toilet can only be used at a given time. On occasions when practitioners need to use the toilet during other times and ask the police for permission, they would answered, “Use your own basin to hold it if you have to.” One day, I was taking a shower in the bathroom and discovered by Xu, the captain of the unit. She started to yell at me, and forbid me to use the toilet that day. To protest her unreasonable insult, I went on a hunger strike for two days. She finally allowed me to use the bathroom.

For practitioners who were willing to cooperate with the guards to write the so-called “Three Statements,” they got transferred to another unit less intensive than the Strict-Supervision Unit after one month. For those who refused to cooperate with them, they would have to stay at the Strict-Supervision Unit for another two months where calling anyone, taking a shower or buying food were prohibited.

I was held in the Strict-Supervision Unit for 2 months before being transferred to Unit 2.

Unit 2: Police Admits Putting Drugs Into Practitioners' Food

The goal of Unit 2 is to “reform” practitioners. The guards first forced practitioners to sit on a small bench facing the wall. They could not talk to anyone or move around. Then, they started bombarding practitioners with lies and slandering Dafa. After 10 days, Falun Gong was blamed for the loss and damage caused by the evil Chinese regime's persecution of practitioners. Thus, attempting to instigate practitioners to resent Falun Gong. The guards also used the “Self-immolation Incident”, fabricated stories and propaganda to deceive practitioners.

One day, Captain Li publicly slandered Dafa in a conference. He said Falun Gong did not let people to take medicine when they got sick. I immediately stood up and sternly pointed out: “Our Master did not say this. Instead He said '...what actually causes people to become ill is seventy percent psychological and thirty percent physiological.' (Zhuan Falun)

I debunked Li's lies in front of people. He pointed at me and said “That person is crazy. Her family was preparing to send her to a mental hospital.” After this incident, I felt an invisible pressure for a few days, as I feared I would face being sent to a mental hospital for further persecution. But I tried to keep a clear head and seized all opportunities to clarify the truth to people. I told them that practicing Falun Gong is legal and does not break any law. On the other hand, persecuting Falun Gong is breaking the law. I told the guards they must stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners now and treat them kindly to atone their sins. I told them to remember “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Only then can they have a future.

I did not cooperate with the guards' unreasonable arrangements. Although I was very weak, I never listened to the guards who tried to deceive me into taking medicine. I know that many Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted with unknown drugs that damage the central nervous system during their detention for their unyielding belief. In order to “reform” practitioners, the unscrupulous guards would do anything they could to achieve their goal such as using drugs with effects of mental disorientation, memory loss, irritability, and loss of rationality.

I myself was an example being persecuted in Shandong Women's Prison with drugs used by prison guards. I also witnessed guards from Unit 2 put unknown drugs into practitioners' food. The captain even openly admitted it and said the doctor asked him to do it.

Two months later, I was transferred to the “Strict-supervision Unit” for further persecution. I suffered from a serious condition as a result of the persecution. Fearing the responsibility of my death, the labor camp released me on medical parole in May 2013. I ended the one-year plus hellish life in a forced labor camp where all my personal freedom were deprived.

At present, there are still many Falun Gong practitioners detained in the forced labor camp for their belief. They suffer from brutal persecution, both physically and psychologically. I call on kind and just people in the world to join efforts and help put an end to this evil persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
