Ms. Bai Ruifang is from Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. She regained mental and physical health after she started practicing Falun Gong in 2004. However, because of her belief, she was arrested by three police officers on her way home on September 4, 2012, and subsequently sentenced to a three-year prison sentence on January 30, 2013.

Ms. Bai Ruifang had suffered various diseases including anemia, allergic reactions, multiple gynecological diseases, and asthma. Her condition worsened despite spending a large amount of money on medical treatment. She was later treated in the Second Hospital affiliated with Shanxi University, which still didn’t help.

Soon after she got back from hospital in 2004, she was fortunate enough to come across Falun Gong. Three months after she began practicing it, all of her diseases were cured.

In May 2006, when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and distributing informational materials in Xinzhou, she was reported by the military guards and later detained for ten days at the National Security Team of Xinfu District Public Security Bureau, Xinzhou. She was once again detained for fifteen days on July 4, 2012, at the National Security Team of Wuzhai County Public Security Bureau for clarifying the truth in Wuzhai County, Xinzhou City.

On her way home at around 11:00 a.m. on September 4, 2012, Bai Ruifang was arrested by three police officers, including Wang Xinping and Liang’er from Xinzhou Qiyibei Traffic Police Station, (ordered by Xinzhou City Public Security Bureau and the 610 Office). They told her that they needed to collect some information, and asked her to have photos taken and sign her name. Bai Ruifang firmly refused. At 8:00 p.m. that day, Wang Xinping took her to Wuzhai County Public Security Bureau. She was detained at Wuzhai County Detention Center that night. The Wuzhai County Public Security Bureau and Procuratorate continued fabricating materials to frame Bai Ruifang so that they could put her in prison.

Ordered by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members in Wuzhai County, the court held an illegal trial of Bai Ruifang at Xinzhou Detention Center on January 7, 2013. Her husband pleaded not guilty for her in court. He proved that she didn’t commit any crime, as proof is needed to convict someone of a crime. He requested that the lawyers handle this case with conscience and that Bai Ruifang be released immediately.

Bai Ruifang has resisted the unlawful sentence from Wuzhai County legislative workers. The court sentenced her to three years in prison on January 30, 2013 because of the lack of her “repentance.” Bai Ruifang appealed in the court.
