Ms. Zhang Lei from Inner Mongolia Faces Unlawful Trial

(Minghui.org) Authorities from the Songshan District Court in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, planned to try Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Lei on April 8, 2013. Ms. Zhang was secretly arrested on August 2, 2012 in Xinhui Township, Aohan Banner, by officers from the Songshan District Police Department and Aohan Police Department Domestic Security Division. She is currently being detained at the Songshan District Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang is from Aohan Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. While studying at the Chifeng Institute of Education, she developed a serious illness. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, her illness magically disappeared and she began doing better academically. Upon graduation, she became a teacher at a private school in Beijing.

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), under the leadership of Jiang Zemin, launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Zhang returned to Chifeng City. She was illegally arrested and detained at the Chifeng City Detention Center because she refused to sign a guarantee statement and renounce her faith in Falun Dafa. She was forcibly searched when admitted to the detention center and forced to do hard labor every day. She had to sort beans for ten-plus hours per day, and sometimes until 2 o'clock in the morning. Her legs became numb due to the cold weather, and her eyes were tired and dry. It became very difficult for her to see things and her vision declined. Yet, she had to get up early every morning to continue working. Ms. Zhang was detained for almost a month.

Party officials in Chifeng City plotted the “10-15 Incident” and arrested more than 50 local Falun Gong practitioners. Attempting to make truth-clarification materials and Dafa articles found in Chifeng City look like they were not printed locally, and to show that the city party officials had completely wiped out Falun Gong in Chifeng, Ms. Zhang was listed as wanted.

Later the Chifeng party officials arrested a practitioner from outside of Chifeng, and falsely convicted and sentenced him, to show that they were capable of solving the case. They nonetheless did not remove Ms. Zhang from the wanted list.

In order to allow her elderly parents peace of mind, Ms. Zhang left home. However, officers from the Aohan Police Department Domestic Security Division, including lead officer Gong Chuanxing, repeatedly went to the residence and harassed her parents. The elderly couple often cried in distress.

For nine years, Ms. Zhang was on the run and couldn't return home. She was arrested on September 10, 2009 at Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City by officers from the Domestic Security Division, and later taken to Aohan Detention Center in Chifeng City.

On August 2, 2012, Ms. Zhang was secretly arrested in Xinhui Township, Aohan, by officers from the Songshan District Police Department and Aohan Police Department Domestic Security Division. The officials from the Procuratorate went against their conscience and against the law by groundlessly filing a lawsuit against Ms. Zhang, a good person who believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, without legal basis. Songshan District Court officials also attempted to try Ms. Zhang.
