(Minghui.org) May 13, 2013, marks the 14th anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day and the 21st anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. On this special occasion, US Congressman Tim Bishop, New York State Senator Phil Boyle, and New York State Assemblymen Steve Englebright, Charles D. Lavine, Edward Hennessey, Fred W. Thiele Jr., Chad A. Lupinacci, and John T. McDonald III issued a Certificate of Special Recognition, a Proclamation, and numerous Citations recognizing World Falun Dafa Day.
It was recognized that Falun Dafa is a practiced and cherished by millions of people in more than 114 countries around the world. It has received over 3000 awards, and its main book of practice Zhuan Falun has been translated into 38 languages. Falun Dafa encourages people to be thoughtful of others at all times, and be good people who share the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Falun Dafa was introduced in New York State in 1996. Practitioners have since given workshops and taught classes throughout the state free of charge.
