(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Atlanta held activities on May 11, 2013, at Stone Mountain Park and Milledgeville City to celebrate the 14th annual World Falun Dafa Day, the 21st Anniversary of Falun Dafa being introduced to the public, and the birthday of Master Li Hongzhi—the founder of Falun Dafa.
Mayor of Norcross, Mr. Bucky Johnson, and Mayor of Duluth, Ms. Nancy Harris, issued proclamations honoring Falun Dafa and dedicated May 13, 2013 as Falun Dafa Day in both cities. The proclamations praised Falun Dafa's benefits to society and encouraged all citizens to participate in this practice that uplifts both the mind and the body.
On the afternoon of May 11, Falun Dafa practitioners in Atlanta, Georgia gathered on the large lawn in front of the American Civil War sculpture in Stone Mountain Park. They demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, recited poetry, and sang in a chorus. The performances and exercise demonstration attracted many visitors, some of whom wanted to learn more about Falun Gong. Some learned the exercise on site.
On the same day, Milledgeville City celebrated World Falun Dafa Day for the first time. In the morning, Falun Dafa practitioners exercised in a group at a beautiful local park. After that, they spoke to people about Falun Gong and the persecution in China, and taught the exercises to anyone who wanted to learn. Some local residents doing their morning exercises were curious and came to learn more about Falun Gong.
