(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Dongkou County, Hu'nan Province] Police Attempt to Arrest Mr. Zeng Liwen

Dongkou County Police Department deputy chief Zeng Lixin and four other officers went to Mr. Zeng Liwen's home on the evening of March 30, 2013, attempting to arrest him. Mr. Zeng escaped. Police ransacked his home, confiscating his car, computer, and other personal belongings. They also arrested his wife, who is not a practitioner.

2. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hu Baoyu Missing

Ms. Hu Baoyu, from Xixiao District, went out to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong on the evening of April 26, 2013. She did not return home.

3. [Yongxing County, Hu'nan Province] Ms. He Lefeng Detained

When Ms. He Lefeng, 65, distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the morning of April 11, 2013, she kindly gave a copy to a police officer. The officer took her to the Domestic Security Division, where director Li Songlin kicked her and slapped her in the face.

He Haiping and four other Domestic Security Division agents ransacked her home, confiscating Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. He was held at a detention center for three days.

4. [Weishi County, He'nan Province] Mr. Wang Songzhi Arrested

Mr. Wang Songzhi, over 50 years old, from Caizhuang Town, was arrested at noon on April 26, 2013, after police searched his home and found Falun Gong informational materials. His whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu E. Arrested

Police arrested Ms. Liu E. when she distributed the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on April 25, 2013. They took her to Dalian City.

6. [Beijing] Mr. Meng Zhenying Arrested

Officers from the Lixian Police Station arrested Mr. Meng Zhenying, from Lixian Town in Daxing District, when he distributed Falun Gong materials on the morning of April 27, 2013. Police planned to send him to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp.

7. [Changji Zhou, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. Gong Xiaojuan Detained

Ms. Gong Xiaojuan is being held at the Changji Detention Center.

8. [Huidong County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Demei and Ms. Ai Chonghui Detained

Police arrested Ms. Xie Demei and Ms. Ai Chonghui when they distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the afternoon of April 27, 2013. Their homes were also ransacked. The two practitioners are currently held at a detention center.

9. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Mingshan District Police Station arrested Ms. Yu Lixin on April 25, 2013. They also ransacked her home, confiscating all of her jewelry. Ms. Yu fainted at the police station after the officers beat her.

Beidi Police Station agents arrested Mr. Li Chunzheng the same day. They took him to the Benxi City Detention Center in the afternoon.

Ms. Jing Yan and Ms. Wang Qing were also arrested on April 25.

10. [Xiangtan City, Hu'nan Province] Ms. Li Jianru Detained

Agents from the Baotalu Police Station and the Neighborhood Administration Office arrested Ms. Li Jianru on April 28, 2013, and detained her at the Baotalu Police Station.

11. [Beihai City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Ya Fang Detained

Police arrested Ms. Ya Fang when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on April 26, 2013. They took her to the Beihai City Detention Center on the evening of April 27 for a term of 15 days.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Guoguang Tortured to Disability at Jidong Prison

Mr. Yang Guoguang from Fengrun District has been tortured at Division No. 2 of the Jidong Prison to the point of disability. He experienced hearing loss and his eyesight has been impaired.

13. [Lufeng County, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Facing Trial

Lufeng County Court scheduled a trial for four practitioners from Kunming City, including Ms. Liu Xiaoping, Ms. Liu Cuixian, Ms. Ran Xiaoman, and Ms. Peng Xueping, for the morning of May 3, 2013.

14. [Zoucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Cuizhi Sent to Labor Camp

Ms. Guo Cuizhi, an employee of the Baodian Coal Mine, was arrested on April 25, 2013, by Yang Kun, the head of the mine's 610 Office. She was sent to the Zhangqiu Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City.

15. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Daan City Court sentenced three practitioners on April 27, 2013: Mr. Ji Hui to four years of imprisonment, Mr. Yue to four years, and Ms. Wang Yan four and a half years.

16. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Song Deshan Detained

Mr. Song Deshan, from Guan County in Shandong Province, worked in Suzhou City. Police arrested him when he distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on the evening of April 12, 2013. He is currently held in the Lumu No.1 Detention Center.
