Additional Persecution News from China – April 16, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 3 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiaonan, Shandong Province] Ms. Pang Yufen Arrested

Ms. Pang Yufen was arrested by plainclothes policemen from the Zhuhailu Police Station while she posted Falun Gong informational flyers on the afternoon of April 14, 2013. She is being held in the Zhuhailu Police Station.

2. [Qihe County, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Yuanxiu Detained

Ms. Tang Yuanxiu from Dameng Village, Liuqiao Township, was arrested by officers from the Qihe Police Department while she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on April 5, 2013. The police went to ransack her home at noon on April 10, 2013. They confiscated Falun Gong books and materials. Ms. Tang has been detained in the Qihe Detention Center.

3. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Shenghua and Mr. Tan Foli Arrested

The Weifang Domestic Security Division officers broke into Mr. Tan Foli's home and arrested him and Mr. Wang Shenghua on April 15, 2013.

4. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Lanfeng Detained

Ms. Wei Lanfeng from Qiansi Village, Fengrun Town, Fengrun District, was arrested at home by officers from the Fengrun government and the Gaogezhuang Police Station on the afternoon of April 12, 2013. The next afternoon, she was transferred to the Fengrun Detention Center.

5. [Zibo, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Liping and Ms. Peng Qiuyun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Liping and Ms. Peng Qiuyun from Xiezhuang Village, Sibaoshan, Zhangdian District, were arrested when they talked to people about Falun Gong at the Huashan Fair on April 11, 2013.

6. [Rizhao, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Peng Detained

On April 13, 2013, Mr. Zhao Peng was followed and arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Rizhao Developing District Police Department. He was sent to the Rizhao Detention Center for a one-month term.

7. [Yanji, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yanhua Detained

Ms. Xu Yanhua worked as a driver at the Yanji Bus Company. She was reported when she distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the bus. She was arrested at home by police on the morning of April 12, 2013, and detained in the Yanji Detention Center for a 15-day term.

8. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ge Peiying Arrested

Ms. Ge Peiying, 60, was arrested on April 12, 2013.

9. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Qingxia Arrested

Ms. Yuan Qingxia, who works in the Hanting Chemical Fiber Factory, was arrested at work by police on the morning of April 15, 2013.

10. [Xupu County, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiang Yiping Sent to Prison

Ms. Xiang Yiping was detained in the Huaihua Second Detention Center for 19 months. She was then sentenced to three years in prison by the Hecheng Distict Court. She was transferred to the Changsha Women's Prison in Hunan Province on April 23, 2013.

11. [Hengyang, Hunan Province] Ms. Yan Hongyan Tortured at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Yan Hongyan was arrested in June 2012 and detained in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, for one year. She was tortured both physically and mentally. She has become sallow and emaciated, with symptoms of many illnesses.
