(Minghui.org) Several Falun Gong practitioners from Huadian City, Jilin Province, including Mr. Li Hongyu and his wife Ms. Tong Suhua, also Ms. Xue Guiyun and others, were arrested at Mr. Li and Ms. Dong's home. The couple's daughter went to the police station to ask about her parents, and the police said they didn't know anything. It was later found out that Mr. Li has been detained in Huadian Detention Center. Ms. Xue and Ms. Dong were sent to Jilin Detention Center on April 3.

The following is the couple's daughter's plea for help.

I called home on March 21, 2013 and found out that both of my parents were missing. After asking around, I was told that they had been arrested by officers from the Xinhua Police Station in Huadian City.

My parents and four Falun Gong practitioner guests were sharing experiences at around 1:00 p.m. on March 20 at the home of my parents. A police officer abruptly began knocking on the door. My mother opened the door. The police said the reason for their intrusion was to inquire about a motor tricycle accident that occurred earlier in the day. He saw the other people present and Falun Gong books, so he asked them all to show their IDs, and called for more police officers. Without any cause, or legal papers, the police arrested the practitioners. My father resisted, and was then handcuffed.

The police also ransacked the home, taking many personal belongings with them. A detailed list of things taken was not provided, but some of the items missing include many books and cookware.

No one in the family was notified. According to law, within 24 hours, those arrested are to be told the reason for their detainment, and families are to be notified with this information.

I rushed to the Xinhua Police Station to find out where my parents were, but the police there were extremely uncooperative. I asked the police station director, “Where are my parents Li Hongyu and Tong Suhua? I want to see them.” He said, “I don't know. They are not here. If you want to wait, go stand aside." Another police officer wrote down my phone number and said, “If there is some information we will call you.” The director later called over two female officers to search my belongings. I said, “These are my personal belongings. You don't have the right to search them.” One of the two female officers said, “You had better cooperate.” I was afraid, so I showed them my belongings and then left. The second time I went to inquire about my parents, an officers just said, “The director went to take care of some other cases. We don't know.”

I went home and waited for news, but received no phone calls. I inquired with many people, and finally heard that on March 21 my parents had been taken to Huadian City Detention Center. My mother was to be detained there for 15 days and my father was being treated as a criminal. What is the legal basis? Why didn't they notify the family?

My mother was scheduled to be released on April 5. I waited at the gate for her all morning. I asked the security guard where she was and he responded by saying that maybe she had already left. I asked around but received only vague guesses. I still have no idea where my mother is. I have the right to know this!

After talking to a lawyer I now understand that the actions of the police were illegal. They ransacked our home and abducted my parents, and I hope that righteous people will help us.
