(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Ya and her mother from Anguo City, Baoding, Hebei Province were posting truth-clarification materials on July 16, 2012, when they were arrested and illegally imprisoned at the Baoding Detention Center. Ms. Li's husband was very depressed and went to Li County to find work on November 16. On the way, he was in a car accident that injured his head severely, and the front of his skull was fractured. He underwent cranial surgery twice, which cost over 100,000 yuan. Their son was left unattended during this time, and their entire family was in an extremely dire situation.

Ms. Li, in her 30s, lived in Ma Village, Shifo Town of Anguo City. She was frail and plagued by diseases since childhood, and she experienced frequent headaches and pain in her legs. She once underwent surgery at the Beijing Military Hospital for stomach ulcers. After the surgery the doctor said that she would need a second surgery to completely cure the ulcers. Later she contracted a rare, sometimes fatal skin disease. These diseases were all incurable through the hospital's treatments, so Ms. Li had no option but to suffer through the pain.

In 2004, when she was 23, Ms. Li began to practice Falun Gong. Before long, she truly experienced Dafa's wonder, and she became disease-free and full of energy. Through her personal experiences, her mind was elevated through Fa-study, and she soon realized that Falun Gong is not just practiced for attaining a healthy body; it also teaches people how to be truly good. Ms. Li came to sense that the most righteous thing a person can do is to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She felt urged to display Dafa's wonderfulness to all people, so she went out to explain the facts and distribute truth-clarification materials when Dafa was being slandered irrationally by the Communist regime.

Ms. Li and her mother were arrested by police from the Xicheng Police Station at Pangge Village Market and taken to the Shifo Police Station on July 16, 2012. Later, they were taken to the Anguo Police Department. The Chief of the Shifo Police Station, Li Baoru, and personnel from the Domestic Security Division took Ms. Li home and confiscated her Dafa books, various materials, a computer, and a printer. They then imprisoned her and her mother at the Anguo City Detention Center.

Ms. Li's family members became panicked after the arrests, so they gave the deputy director of the Anguo Police Department Li Dongpu 8,000 yuan for his help in garnering the release of Ms. Li and her mother (Li Dongpu later returned 5,000 yuan after his taking bribery was exposed).

On July 31, Li Dongpu said that Ms. Li's mother would be released in the morning and Ms. Li in the afternoon. However, several days later they were still being held, and their family members were still not allowed to visit them at the detention center. The family members found Li Dongpu and asked him about the delay. However, they were only told that Ms. Li had been taken to the Baoding Detention Center that afternoon.

The chief of the Domestic Security Division, Xu Yawei, who had made a fortune through persecuting Falun Gong over the years, had requested the switch after being upset for not receiving any bribes from Ms. Li's case. After Xu had submitted Ms. Li's case to the Anguo City Procuratorate and obtained the swap to his detention center, Ms. Li's family members were again forced to come up with 4,000 yuan to seek help from the Procuratorate.

Ms. Li lived in the countryside and was in a poor financial situation. Her mother-in-law was ill, and there was no one to take care of her 6-year-old son. After she was arrested, her husband battled depression. The detention center also prohibited any visitation between him and his wife. To make a living, he traveled to Li County for work and was involved in an accident on the way there. The front of his skull was crushed, and he fell immediately into a coma. He was then transported to the intensive care unit.

After undergoing an initial surgery, a month later he underwent another. The total cost of his two-month-long hospital stay totaled over 100,000 yuan. Since his family could not afford the hospital costs, and since there was no compensation for him from the accident, he had no choice but to return home soon after the second surgery.

As the treatment was not complete, he had sequelae (a psychological disorder resulting from trauma) after the surgery, and frequently felt as if he had lost his mind. Sometimes when he would think of his wife, he would attempt to leave the house. His family members were forced to lock the main entrance in order to prevent him from leaving. He would then climb over a wall to get out. His parents were greatly distressed by the family's situation, and the entire family was unsure of where to turn.

At this point, Ms. Li had been imprisoned for over seven months, and she was not aware of her family's situation. Her family members attempted to visit her several times but were all turned away. They were only allowed to drop her off a few articles of clothing.

On December 7, 2012, the director of the Anguo City Court, Yuan Jingzhou, and Zhang Li held an illegal trial for Ms. Li without notifying her family. Her family still heard about the trial through other channels and went to the court. Arriving after the trial, they found out that it had been conducted in a hurry and had only gone through the judicial formalities. The judges had spent most of the time slandering Falun Gong, while Ms. Li calmly stated how she had benefited from practicing Falun Gong. The judges then adjourned the trial, saying that they would administer a verdict in the second trial. However, there were already rumors spreading that Ms. Li was to be sentenced to several years in prison.

Ms. Li's family members were in a panic upon hearing this rumor, and they hired an attorney to build a defense for Ms. Li. The attorney argued that Ms. Li's actions did not constitute a crime, and that she should be released based upon the law. This defense's statement was submitted to the Anguo City Court, but Yuan Jingzhou refused to reply. Ms. Li's family went to the court to request her release, and the court personnel failed to offer a legitimate excuse for her detainment. They even replied, “You come so frequently. Is that because you think we are easily taken advantage of?”

In hopes that her husband's frail medical condition would be reason enough for her release, Ms. Li's family members took her husband to the Baoding No. 1 People's Hospital for a medical examination. The report read: “Acute severe cranial and brain injury includes: 1. Injury to both lobes of the brain; 2. Traumatic intracranial bleeding; 3. Skull fracture. Requires hospitalization and surgery.”

The family members brought the medical report before the judges and asked for Ms. Li's release on the grounds that she was needed to take care of her husband and child. The judges, however, refused. Yuan Jingzhou even claimed, “We cannot release her. Her case is not in our hands anymore. It has been submitted to the Intermediate Court.” Zhang Li then told the family members to obtain the proper documents from the village government; however, after the family acquired the documents, Ms. Li was still not released. The family next reported the situation to the city government, but nothing came out of their appeal.

The experience of Ms. Li and her family amid the rampant persecution is not unique. The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong has touched upon all aspects of the Chinese nation, and it has damaged the entire society. But its rule is falling apart. Its annihilation is the will of heaven, and its deserved fate due to its persecution of kind and innocent people is close at hand.

Falun Gong practitioners are telling people the truth and how to stay safe when disaster strikes. If one chooses to exist with the evil in persecuting kind people, one will face karmic retribution while being buried with CCP.
