Additional Persecution News from China – January 26, 2013 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties and in 7 provinces. In this report, 13 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ma Yanquan's Home Ransacked

Three plainclothes police officers burst into Mr. Ma Yanquan's house on January 23, 2013 and ransacked it while Mr. Ma was not at home.

2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuzhen, in her 60s, from Yushu City was arrested on January 23, 2013 while she was clarifying the truth at Yushu Hospital.

3. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Tian Changbao Persecuted in a Brainwashing Center for Three Months

Mr. Tian Changbao, 72, was taken to Laodaohe Brainwashing Center by officials from Yuhua District 610 Office in Changsha City during the 18^th National Party Congress. His arrest caused him to suffer from anxiety, resulting in partial paralysis after blood vessels in his brain burst. He has been in hospital for three months, but has not yet recovered. He can't even look after himself now.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Had Money Extorted

Mr. Guo, Ms. Qi and Ms. Laowu were arrested by officers from the Shenyang Police Department and Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of January 26, 2013. Their current whereabouts are unknown. On the evening of same day, Ms. Laowu's daughter was told to go to the police department. The officers there tried to force her to pay 120,000 yuan for her mother's release.

5. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Shaojie and Ms. Zhao Wenying Held in Linxi County Detention Center

Ms. Ma Shaojie, in her 60s, and Ms. Zhao Wenying, in her 70s, both from Linqing City, were arrested on January 22, 2013, when they were seen clarifying the truth. They are currently being held in Linxi County Detention Center in Hebei Province.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Tian Zhimin Arrested

Ms. Tian Zhimin from Fengtai District in Beijing was arrested at her workplace on the afternoon of January 22, 2013. Her home was ransacked soon after she was arrested.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Peng Guangyu Arrested

Ms. Peng Guangyu, 74, from Beijing was arrested on the morning of January 25, 2013 while distributing truth-clarification materials near Puhuangyu bridge. Her current whereabouts is unknown.

8. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] More Information on the Arrests of Ms. Sheng Chunhua and Wang Yaojuan

Ms. Sheng Chunhua from Dongdujia Village and Ms. Wang Yaojuan from Liuche Village, both of Shahe Town, Laizhou City, were arrested by plainclothes officers from Shahe Police Station on the afternoon of January 24, 2013 while they were clarifying the truth to people. Ms. Sheng and Ms. Wang were both handcuffed to a chair. Police then confiscated Ms. Wang's keys and 500 yuan in cash (all of which had truth-clarification messages written on) and all fruit and vegetables they had just bought. On the afternoon of the same day, Ms. Wang managed to escape, but Ms. Sheng was taken to Laizhou Detention Center by officers from Laizhou Domestic Security Division.

The police used Ms. Wang's house keys and ransacked her home. Her Dafa books, MP3 player, truth clarification DVDs, a cell phone and cash were confiscated.

9. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] More Information on the Arrest of Ms. Hu Guiqing

Ms. Hu Guiqing was locked in a small cell and force-fed twice a day in Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp.

More practitioners are detained in the labor camp. They are Ms. Li Shanshan, Ms. Chen Xiumei, Ms. Wang Lanying, Ms. Ji Shujun, Ms. Wang Cuixiang and Ms. Li Meiwang.

10. [Anping County, Hebei Province] Mr. Qiao Zhanhe and Ms. Qiao Naran Become Homeless

Around 10 police burst into Mr. Qiao Zhanhe's house and ransacked it on the afternoon of January 20, 2013. Mr. Qiao is from Wangying Village, Daziwen in Anping County. The police also went to his daughter Ms. Qiao Naran's home, and confiscated her computer and other items. Mr. Qiao and his daughter were then forced to leave their homes to avoid further persecution.

11. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Jiangping, Ms. Zhang Jimei Persecuted in Prison

Mr. Luo Jiangping and Ms. Zhang Jimei, both from Miyi County, are currently suffering persecution in prison. Mr. Luo, in his 40s, is serving his sentence in Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison.

Ms. Zhang Jimei, in her 60s, is being detained in Yunnan Province No. 2 Prison. She is forced to sew 18 purses a day from morning till 8 or 9 o'clock in the evening.

12. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Cai Guijiao and Ms. Yan Congxi Sentenced

Ms. Cai Guijiao and Ms. Yan Congxi, both from Yueyang City, were sentenced to three years in prison by officials from Huarong County Court in Yueyang City. They were taken to the Changsha Women's Prison. They are currently being detained in the sixth ward and their families are not allowed to visit.

13. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Qiuju Arrested and Money Extorted

Ms. Wang Qiuju, 50, from Shangjie District in Zhengzhou City, was arrested on January 12, 2013. She is being held in the Zhengzhou City No. 2 Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Qiuju was followed and arrested a few months ago, just because she spent a one-yuan bill which had a truth-clarification message on it. Her home was ransacked and she was released only after police extorted 5,000 yuan from her family.

14. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liu Liyan and Ms. Yang Shiyi Arrested

Mr. Liu Liyan and Ms. Yang Shiyi from Xiangtan City were arrested by officers from the Daolin Police Station in Ningxiang County on January 15, 2013. They were held in the Ningxiang Detention House. Ms. Yang Shiyi was transferred to the Ningxiang Detention Center on the afternoon of January 24.
