Additional Persecution News from China – February 9, 2013 (6 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in six cities or counties in three provinces. According to this report, five practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least one practitioner was illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Additional Information on the Arrest of Mr. Liu Yuanxue

Mr. Liu Yuanxue was arrested by officers from the Yongchuan District Domestic Security Division and Shenli Road Comprehensive Management Office on April 16, 2012. He was taken to the Yongchuan District Detention Center. He was recently sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison.

2. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhen Sentenced to Prison Term

Mr. Zhen, 74, was arrested at the end of January 2013. He was sentenced to three years in prison and is being detained at a farm in Hongze County.

3. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Jinghua Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Zhang Jinghua was arrested by officers from the Nuanchitang Police Station for speaking with people about Falun Gong on July 2, 2012. He was taken to the Huludao City Detention Center. He was tried by the Nanpiao District Court on January 9 and sentenced to four years in prison on January 31.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Jiamin Abused in Forced Labor Camp

The guards at Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp have escalated the persecution of Ms. Zhang Jiamin. They do not allow her to wear socks or winter shoes, do not let her use warm comforters, and give her very little food at each meal. They make her write a “thought report” every day. Ms. Zhang is emaciated and has bruises on her nose.

5. [Shandong Province] Mr. Lu Shuming Tortured in Forced Labor Camp

Guard Wang Baohua at the Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp poured water on the ground and threw Mr. Lu Shuming in it. Wang put a chair over Mr. Lu and then sat on the chair while Mr. Lu was handcuffed. Wang shocked him with electric batons. Mr. Lu shouted “Falun Dafa is good!” The guards tied a towel around his mouth and shocked it with electric batons, turning his skin black.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Ziting Interrogated and His Home Ransacked

Mr. Li Ziting was arrested by officers from the Zheshan Town Police Station on the afternoon of January 28, 2013. He was taken to the Domestic Security Division of the Anqiu Police Department. His newly purchased van was confiscated. The police handcuffed Mr. Li to an iron chair and interrogated him using torture. They ransacked his home the next day.

The police took Mr. Li to the detention center, but the authorities refused to admit him because he had high blood pressure. Mr. Li returned home on the evening of January 31. His van has not been returned.
