(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Xudong, 28, lives in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The police searched her home and arrested her on November 3, 2012, and she has since been incarcerated in the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center. Her parents are not allowed to visit her and are worried about her.
Seventeen officers from the Tangshan Police Department, Lubei Police Department, and Dali Road Police Station broke into her home at around 3:00 p.m. on November 3, 2012, but she was not at home. The officers searched the home and confiscated her desktop computer, notebook computer, and some of her books. They located her through surveillance systems and arrested her and Ms. An Qiufen, who was dining with her, at a restaurant near the Xiaoshan area, at around 5:00 p.m.
Ms. Wang's whereabouts during the first five days after her arrest is unknown, but she was subsequently incarcerated at the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center. Her mother, Ms. Zhou Guirong, was detained by her employer, Lunan Hospital, on November 4, the second day after she was arrested, and was released several days later.
Ms. Wang's parents questioned the Lubei Police Department about her arrest. Case officer Zhao Lufei said that the case was under investigation and so would not discuss it. Ms. Wang's parents went to the detention center many times to visit; however, all of their requests were denied.
Ms. Wang, born in 1985, graduated from the Japanese Department of Tangshan TV and Broadcast University. She worked as a consultant in technical training schools, as well as after school programs for middle and primary school students. She is kind and smart, and has a good reputation among her managers and colleagues.
Ms. Wang began practicing Falun Dafa with her mother in July 1998, after she saw Master Li Hongzhi's picture in a magazine. She somehow recognized the photo, and immediately determined that he was to be her teacher. She was born with congenital heart disease and suffered a lot, but her illnesses disappeared shortly after she started practicing Falun Dafa.
Ms. Zhou had many illnesses prior to practicing Falun Dafa. Although she is a doctor, modern medicine had not helped. Soon after she began practicing Falun Dafa, many of her symptoms disappeared.
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners in 1999, Ms. Zhou was detained at the Tangshan No. 2 Detention Center, and a brainwashing center located at the Textile University, for more than two years. In attempts to “transform” her, agents beat her using hard rubber batons until she fainted. She was forced to sit on an iron chair for more than ten days. They deprived her of sleep for many days, and she was incarcerated in a small cell. There was a chair and a desk at first, and she slept at the desk. When the desk and chair were taken away she sat on the ground. The guards then poured water on the ground, and she was only able to get a few days of sleep per month.
Ms. Wang was in middle school when her mother was detained. While her father was busy with his full-time job, taking care of elderly parents, and finding ways to visit her mother who was incarcerated, she had to stay at the boarding school. Her teachers coerced her to write a guarantee statement promising to quit practicing Falun Dafa, and threatened that they would expel her from school. They indeed suspended her for a month. She was hurt, as she previously had outstanding academic performance. After that, her grades dropped and never recovered.
Ms. An Qiufen, 35, who was arrested along with Ms. Wang, was a college student in the Hebei Teacher's University when she was expelled from college for practicing Falun Dafa in late 1999.
Ms. An was incarcerated at the Tangshan No. 2 Detention Center, and a brainwashing center located at the Textile University, for nearly three years. Guard Xing Lixin (female) brutally beat her. Her arms became purple and blue and she was unable to lift her arms for many days. They forced her to sit in an iron chair for more than ten days. As a result, her legs swelled and she could not walk.
Ms. An's father was a cadre of the Lunan District Discipline Committee. His job was suspended since his daughter was not “transformed.” He died from a heart attack in 2002 due to extreme mental pressure.
Ms. An was detained for 15 days after being arrested while dining with Ms. Wang on November 3, 2012. The police ransacked her home on the evening of November 3 and confiscated a computer, her ID card, and bank cards. She requested legal assistance during the detention, and her case officer in the Lunan Police Department denied it, saying “You do not have any rights. We do not need to deal with you following the law since you are a practitioner.” The police attempted to give her a forced labor sentence, but failed.
