(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dai Zhizheng from Dalian City was secretly sentenced to four years in prison at Zhongshan District Court recently. He is preparing to appeal.
Over the course of 14 years of persecution, Mr. Dai's family has been torn apart. His elder sister, Ms. Dai Zhijuan, died as a result of torture on December 21, 2005. Ms. Dai's husband, Mr. Yang Chuanjun, was arrested by Dalian police multiple times. He has been illegally sentenced twice for a total of nine years of imprisonment and has suffered all kinds of brutal torture.
Ms. Dai Zhijuan Died as a Result of Torture
Ms. Dai Zhijuan was an attending physician of the Dalian City Obstetrics Hospital. After July 20, 1999, she was illegally detained five times and twice sentenced to forced labor for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Dai went to Beijing to appeal in April 2000 and was illegally imprisoned at Masanjia Labor Camp in Shenyang. There, she was subjected to beatings, sleep deprivation, forced labor, isolation and monitoring, injection of unknown drugs, and more. She was tortured to the point where she could not take care of herself and was bailed out for medical treatment.
Officers from the Dalian City 610 Office and the police department arrested Ms. Dai and her husband once again on April 24, 2002. Ms. Dai was sentenced to three years of forced labor and further abused at the Masanjia Labor Camp. She was devastated both mentally and physically, and was unable to eat. She was once again bailed out for medical treatment.
About eight policemen tried to arrest Ms. Dai and her mother on September 1, 2004 but failed. Afterwards, four plainclothes policemen stayed at the entrance of Ms. Dai's building to monitor her and pretended to be mahjong players. Ms. Dai was soon forced to become homeless.
Ms. Dai died on December 21, 2005 as a result of the persecution that she'd suffered.
Mr. Yang Chuanjun Imprisoned for Nine Nears
Ms. Dai's husband, Mr. Yang Chuanjun, is over 50 years old. He was one of the volunteers in charge of a practice site in Dalian City. He was listed as a major target for persecution by Dalian police and was illegally detained many times and sentenced to prison twice for a total of nine years.
Mr. Yang lost consciousness for 10 hours due to fatigue from being forced to do intensive slave labor in 2000 when he was illegally imprisoned at Masanjia Labor Camp.
Officers from Dalian City 610 Office and the police department arrested Mr. Yang once again on April 24, 2002. He was imprisoned at Yaojia Detention Center for 10 months. Afterwards, he was forcibly taken to Masanjia Labor Camp. He was released because the labor camp refused to take him. However, officers from the Dalian Police Department forced him to stay at home and didn't allow him to go to work.
In order to achieve their goal, the police claimed that Mr. Yang was organizing the “International Fa Conference in Dalian.” They used this as an excuse for the large scale arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in Dalian City around April 25 of that year. They illegally arrested Mr. Yang in the process.
An illegal trial of Falun Gong practitioners, including Mr. Yang Chuanjun and Mr. Tian Jun, was held at Ganjingzi District Court of Dalian City on January 21, 2003. During the trial, Mr. Yang and Mr. Tian pointed out that Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa and cultivation is not a crime.
They also exposed crimes committed by the police, led by the chief of Shahekou District Political Security Section Zhang Ping. They fabricated evidence, extracted confession through torture, shocked practitioners with electric batons and beat them repeatedly for three days and nights. The trial was adjourned quickly, and Mr. Yang was secretly sentenced to 4 years in prison afterwards.
Mr. Yang was imprisoned at Dalian City Prison. He went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution, and the prison guards escalated the persecution by locking him up in a small cell. They tortured him by force-feeding him and leaving the feeding tube in his stomach.
Mr. Yang was arrested by police from the Dalian City Domestic Security Division on June 19, 2007. He was frequently tortured to the point of fainting and vomiting blood. He was taken to Dalian Central Hospital for examination. His blood pressure reading was 120/180.
An illegal trial against Mr. Yang was held at Dalian Court on September 14, 2007, and the Procuratorate had no evidence whatsoever. There were three court trials held at Xigang District Court in succession that dealt with Falun Gong.
The first two trials ended with no verdict due to lack of evidence. The third time, the Procuratorate had no representative present. The judge directly sentenced Mr. Yang to five years in prison without any evidence. Mr. Yang started to protest, but the judge left immediately after pronouncing the sentence.
Ever since his first arrest in April 2002, Mr. Yang has been suffering brutal persecution. His mother (in her eighties) went to the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office frequently to demand his release and tell the officials about Falun Gong.
Ms. Dai and Mr. Yang had a healthy body and mind from practicing Falun Gong and were good people. Just because they believed in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and tried to become good people, they were persecuted by the CCP to the point that their families were torn apart.
According to Minghui reports, nearly 120 Falun Gong practitioners in the Dalian area have been tortured to death, and many others have been seriously harmed. The persecution Mr. Dai's family suffered is just a snapshot of the persecution suffered by millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
