(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Qiuyun's father cries out Daughter, let's go home” each time he visits his daughter in prison. He has developed dementia, but he remembers his daughter's name and asks on a daily basis, "When will our daughter come home?"

His daughter, Zhang Qiuyun, is a Falun Gong practitioner who was illegally arrested in July 2008. She was interrogated and held for one year, then sentenced to five years in prison in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

1. Zhang Qiuyun Voted as a Model Worker by her Co-workers

Ms. Zhang Qiuyun, 42, had been working for the Hongqi Shopping Center in the Taocheng District, Hengshui City, Hebei Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in March of 1999. After she began practicing Falun Gong, all of her illnesses disappeared.

Ms. Zhang Qiuyun abides by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance no matter where she is, be it at home or at work. She took care of her parents at home and respects and cares for her in-laws. She was diligent at work, and was elected as a model worker by her employer. Her co-workers unanimously chose her because she made such a great impression on them.

Ms. Zhang has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) numerous times because of her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. When in December 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, she was arrested, taken back, and held in Hengshui Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Qiuyun was arrested in 2002 and taken to a brainwashing center. Her mother-in-law was on her knees imploring the officials that her daughter-in-law was a good person, and that they could not live without her care. She was nonetheless taken away.

Yang Shushan from the Hengshui Domestic Security Division, along with a dozen police officers, raided Ms. Zhang Qiuyun's home on July 26, 2008, at around 6:00 a.m., and took her away.

2. Brutally Interrogated

Officers from the Domestic Security Division interrogated her and asked her who gave her the Falun Dafa flyers and materials, and who made contact with her. She refused to cooperate, and as a result she was brutally tortured. She was tied to a tiger bench, and collaborators shocked her with electric batons for a very long time. A year later her arms are still so painful that she can hardly move.

When Ms. Zhang was in the Hengshui Detention Center, she was also forced to do slave labor while wearing handcuffs. Everyone had to get up very early and work until after midnight. Her wrists became scarred and covered with blood due to the handcuffs.

After she was held in the detention center for one year, she was sentenced to five years in prison in December 2009.

3. Father Became Ill after Worrying About and Missing his Daughter

Ms. Zhang Qiuyun's husband did business out of town most of the time. When Ms. Zhang was at home, she took care of her elderly in-laws. Her parents also needed her help, and her daughter was attending high school. When she was arrested, her entire family was devastated. They could not sleep or eat well, her daughter cried day and night, and because she was not able to concentrate in school, she was forced to leave school. Her husband's business was greatly affected because he had to take care of the family.

Ms. Zhang's father missed his daughter very much and gradually became delirious. He wandered out on April 20, 2011, at around 11:00 p.m., and was hit by a taxi at an intersection. The impact was so strong that he flew a dozen meters and landed hard on the ground. He was severely injured, and suffered head trauma. His pelvis and collarbone were fractured.

After he recovered physically he could not remember how to get home. His wife had to sew his home address, phone number, and name onto his clothes.

4. Family Demand's Ms. Zhang's Release

Zhang Qiuyun has been in prison close to five years, and her family longs for her return. We hope that all parties involved in persecuting Zhang Qiuyun will be brought to justice, and Zhang Qiuyun will be released without any conditions.
