(Minghui.org) Ms. Chen Meiyun, 70, from Xinhua County, Hunan Province, became mentally and physically healthy and happy after practicing Falun Gong. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, she was frequently arrested and imprisoned. She was forced to become homeless for ten years after being illegally sentenced, and she died a grievous death on December 11, 2012.

Ms. Chen Meiyun

Ms. Chen was a former employee of the Agricultural Resources Company of Xinhua County, Hunan Province. After she started practicing Falun Gong in May 1998, the diseases that plagued her for many years, including diabetes, rheumatism, and Ménières disease, soon all disappeared. She followed Teacher's teachings and was a good person according to the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Ms. Chen, who was then in her fifties, felt young again and her heart was happy and fulfilled like never before.

In July 1999, Jiang's regime launched the persecution against Falun Gong, and Ms. Chen's family was never again peaceful. Personnel from the Xinhua County Domestic Security Division came to her home to harass her over twenty times, and her home was ransacked eight times. Her Falun Gong books, audio tapes, and Teacher's photos were confiscated multiple times.

Ms. Chen went to Beijing to appeal and speak out on behalf of Falun Gong on November 13, 1999. To expose the CCP lies, she distributed truth-clarifying materials about Falun Gong to others. She peacefully spoke out about the true situation during the suppression. Throughout history, only tyrannical regimes have suppressed people from appealing. Nevertheless, the local 610 Office personnel illegally detained Ms. Chen twice just for this, held her for over 90 days, and fined her 9,000 yuan.

In April 2003 Ms. Chen was sentenced to three years in prison. To resist the persecution, Ms. Chen escaped but was forced to become homeless.

Ms. Chen visited her home once in July 2009, and was arrested by local police. During the arrest, Ms. Chen fainted and her blood pressure as well as her blood glucose level rose rapidly. She was taken to a hospital for emergency rescue and recovered after treatment. Personnel from the 610 Office and Domestic Security Division continuously came to her home after that to harass her, and as a result Ms. Chen was forced to become homeless.

When Ms. Chen died amidst the CCP's persecution on December 11, 2012, this 70-year-old woman had been forced to remain homeless for ten years.
