(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claimed recently that it would retire the labor camp system this year. Some practitioners expressed joy: “Wow, the cultivation environment will be better. Labor camps won't be able to detain Dafa disciples anymore!” They think that the CCP is improving and some people have put their hope in certain leaders of the CCP. Some people even believe that the CCP is turning over a new leaf and becoming kinder. Because their minds have deviated, they have slacked off in their own cultivation.
Not only have the Dafa disciples in the labor camps not been released, but also the labor camps and brainwashing centers have escalated their persecution of steadfast practitioners. Local police are still arresting Dafa disciples. The persecution has actually intensified as practitioners are being sentenced to prison for the crime of “undermining law enforcement.”
According to recent Minghui reports on the persecution, the number of labor camp sentences has sharply declined, but the number of prison sentences has greatly increased. In fact, the persecution has become worse. Dafa disciples are usually held in detention centers when they are arrested. Many are facing court trials or harsh sentences without due process. Some people have been sentenced to as long as 12 years.
From January 20 to 28, 2013, 75 cases were reported on the Minghui website. Dafa disciples arrested in our area have not been sentenced to labor camps, but they were sentenced to prison and experienced escalated persecution by the 610 Office and the judicial system. One Dafa disciple received a prison sentence of three years within a month of his arrest.
The Minghui website recently reported, “Practitioner Ms. Wang Guohui of Xiyang County has been sentenced to five years. When family members asked why she was sentenced to five years after the attorney pleaded innocent, the court said that it made its decision based on previous cases and cases involving Falun Gong practitioners in the neighboring area. Neither the law nor the facts were taken into consideration.” Further reports state, “Ms. Wang Qiaolan of Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, was prosecuted by the Pingding County Procuratorate. Jia Yongsheng, chief of Prosecution at the Pingding County Procuratorate, claimed:,“As long as someone has been detained for practicing Falun Gong and is still practicing, he or she will be sentenced.” We can see that the nature of the persecution hasn't changed.
Everything in this world has been caused by the attachments of Dafa disciples. When our thoughts are not righteous and not on the Fa, the evil will try to take advantage of the loophole and cause losses to the Fa-rectification.
Dafa disciples are playing the leading role. When we are not taking control, the evil will try to cause damage. During the past decade, we have had so many examples. When practitioners had attachments to the premier during the CCP 16th People's Congress, this worsened the results of that Congress. Our attachments to the prophecy about the Olympics caused severe roadblocks to the salvation of sentient beings.
We should know that, even if the CCP dismantles the labor camp system, it's because of the progress of the Fa-rectification. It is not because the CCP all of a sudden wants to be good. It doesn't mean that the CCP intends to stop its persecution of Dafa disciples. The CCP's labor camp system violates the Chinese constitution and is notorious inside and outside of China.
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party has pointed out: “Every time the CCP changes its position or principles, it is because its legitimacy and survival has met unavoidable crisis.”
Master has told us: “For an entire century, the evil Party has constantly changed its lies so as to disguise itself and harm people.” (“Stay Clearheaded”)
The history of the CCP is one of violence and murder. No matter who the leader is or how the CCP changes, everything it does it does to protect its own evil self-interests and to maintain a monopoly whose goal is to ruin mankind. Individual leaders in the CCP system that use their power for good to help disintegrate the CCP and bring Jiang Zemin and his cohorts to justice will position themselves well in history. As long as the CCP is in control, it will not change its evil nature.
In fact, evil cannot simply do whatever it pleases. It exists for us. Since everything in the world is caused by Dafa disciples' attachments, we have to think about why the persecution has escalated at a time when so much evil has been eliminated. Are we acknowledging the persecution? If we can completely negate the arrangement of the old evil forces, stop fearing the persecution, stop thinking that we live under the leadership of the CCP, and stop believing that Dafa truth-clarification materials are evidence to be used to persecute us, would the evil still dare to carry on the persecution? We should be righteous, save sentient beings with dignity, and continuously purify ourselves.
In addition to this, we may have slacked off in our cultivation. The state of our environment is irrelevant to whether we can reach our cultivation requirements. The requirements of the Fa are the same. We have to be strict about our cultivation.
Master has told us:
“Our path is narrow. If you go off course ever so slightly, there will be problems. I don’t want to see you experiencing problems, nor do I want anyone to be sliding downward in their cultivation. Even less do I want to see you slack off in your cultivation because circumstances are changing for the better. All of this was brought about by you, and there are still many things that lie ahead—and that will be the case all the way until the day you reach Consummation.” (“What is a Dafa Disciple”)
We should remain unaffected by the false policies of the CCP and see through the superficiality of reducing the labor camp sentences. We need to completely negate the evil CCP's escalation of the persecution under the disguise of “dismantling the labor camp system.” Let's firm up our righteous thoughts, disintegrate all arrangements made by the old evil forces, and quickly save more sentient beings.
