(Minghui.org) Practitioner Ms. Yu Cuilan has been held in Jilin Women’s Prison (also known as Heizuizi Women's Prison) for seven years and persecuted. She was tortured on the “stretching bed” and is now disabled. She is currently being held in the No. 4 Division of the No. 8 District. Even in her condition, she is still being dragged to the restroom and beaten.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Xia, a retired teacher from Panshi County, has been held in Jilin Women’s Prison for five years. She was illegally sentenced to seven years imprisonment, and she is also in the same division as Ms. Yu. She was forced to sit on a small wooden stool for a long period of time in front of an open window while wearing thin clothes in winter. She was once tortured this way for over two months.

Ms. Yu Tortured and Disabled

Ms. Yu was arrested by the Domestic Security Division of Changchun City on May 19, 2006, and taken to the Changchun No. 3 Detention Center. A sham trial was held in Luyuan Court on November 23, 2006, and Ms. Yu was sentenced to ten years in prison. Immediately after the sentencing, she was taken to the Jilin Women’s Prison, even though she was on the brink of death and unable to walk as a result of the persecution.

Torture re-enactment: Stretching bed

The prison authorities prevented Ms. Yu's family from visiting her for a long time. They later learned that she and another practitioner had been tortured on the “stretching bed” for a year, causing them to lose control of their bladder and bowel function.

While they were tortured on the “stretching bed,” both practitioners were denied restroom use and had to urinate and defecate in their pants. The criminal inmates were also instigated to frequently beat them. As a result of the torture, Ms. Yu became very weak, her body was bent forward, she couldn't move her arms, and she could barely walk. Despite her condition, the prison guards still forced her to do hard labor.

Afterwards, the guards told the inmates to closely monitor her. They constantly beat her, and didn't allow her to speak or use the restroom. She now has a bladder disorder.

Ms. Liu Xia Persecuted

Ms. Liu was born on May 12, 1952, and had retired from teaching at Panshi City No. 4 High School. She was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Panshi City Police Department on July 11, 2008, and was sentenced to prison in 2009. She has been held in the “Education Ward” in the prison and tortured. She now suffers from stroke-like symptoms.

Torture re-enactment: severe beating

Ms. Liu was once forced to stand for more than 40 days when she refused to give up practicing Falun Dafa. As a result, her legs swelled up and she suffered a mental breakdown. The perpetrators involved were guard Yang Xi and inmates Kang Wei, Zhan Shujie, and someone with the surname Yang.

She was locked in a room on the third floor and beaten once in 2011. Another time, she was forced to sit on the cold floor for a long time, wearing only thin clothes. The guards also used a heavy quilt to cover her face so that she couldn't breathe. They only removed the quilt when she was suffocating and gasping for air. They repeated the process over and over.

The tortures inflicted on Ms. Liu didn't lessen until there was news that practitioner Ms. Zhao Yanxia in Lishu County was tortured to death.

The practitioners were taken to the third floor of the “Education Ward” after being admitted to the prison, and monitored by several “inmate helpers.” Those who refused to “transform” were forced to stand from 5:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. every day. If the practitioner still didn't “transform,” that practitioner would be tied up with thin ropes.

Each cell had a special bed to tie the practitioners' limbs to it. When their limbs were tied to the bed, their mouths were taped shut and their pants were taken off, so they had to urinate into a pan placed underneath them. This torture method was also used to try to “transform” the practitioners.

Tortures were also held on the fifth floor. The torture methods included: The “stretching bed,” kneeling down on ridged boards, standing on one foot, standing with their hands above the head, bending like an airplane, and hung upside down.
