(Minghui.org) Police made up evidence, the prosecutor fled the courtroom, and the presiding judge forged a signature. These bizarre events occurred when Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Lixin was tried in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province.

Ms. Wang was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials by officers from Changqing Police Station on July 19, 2010. She was put on trial on October 18, 2010, in the Jiamusi Suburban Court. Her lawyer made a very strong defense and clearly proved that the police fabricated the evidence.

Those officiating at the trial had nothing to say in response, and the prosecutor fled the courtroom. The judge said, “What kind of trial is this? There isn't even a prosecutor.” However, after the trial was hastily adjourned, Ms. Wang was still sentenced to three and half years in prison.

When she appealed, the Intermediate Court judge duped her into signing something that did not help her case. Without any further hearings, she was transferred to Heilongjiang Women's Jail.

Below is Ms. Wang's personal testimony.

Falun Gong Changed My Life

My name is Wang Lixin, and I am from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. In the past, I had congenital aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and iron deficiency anemia. My blood pressure was very low, 90/60 mm Hg. Due to my poor health, I had a terrible temper. Whenever something didn't go my way, I would start screaming at my husband and child.

In 1997, I began to practice Falun Gong with the help of my older sister. I was drawn to the principles of the practice. I regained my confidence and hope. In that time, the Buddha light shined on me and my life felt very full.

Arrested and Harassed

In 1999 the Chinese Communist regime began the persecution of Falun Gong. Because I had benefited so much from practicing it, I felt I should speak out. On December 24, 2012, I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong and was arrested on December 26.

I refused to give my name or tell where I was from. This made the police in Beijing swear at and humiliate me. I was tried four times and then sent to the Daxing County Detention Center. The Jiamusi office in Beijing contacted the Jiamusi 610 Office, and police officer Chen Wanyou took me back to Jiamusi. I was released after the police extorted 3000 yuan from my family and made them promise to monitor my activities.

Police Break in, Threaten My Husband, and Cause His Death

In 2001, I opened a store in Qianjin Village in the suburban area of Jiamusi. I clarified the facts about the persecution to my customers and played the videos in my store. I was reported by security officer Jiao Shizhong and arrested by roughly a dozen officers from the Changqing Police Station. Chief Cao Changbin was in charge. They ransacked my home and searched everywhere in my store, including the shed, vegetable cellar, bathroom, and coal yard. They took away all my Falun Gong books, DVDs, booklets, projector slides, and lanterns. I was able to get away, and a kind couple hid me from the police.

The police were furious that they couldn't find me, and they closed all intersections and searched for me in every household. After all that, they still couldn't find me, so they took their anger out on my husband. They harassed my family every day. My husband said to them, “My wife had a very bad temper before. After she practiced Falun Gong, she no longer had a bad temper and her health improved. Why do you want to arrest her? Which law did she violate?”

My husband was very worried about me and became very sick after all the intimidation and threats by the police. He passed away six months later. I could not return to my home. My child lost his father and missed me very much, and his grades suffered.

In 2003 I worked in a supermarket on Zhanqian Road. I explained the persecution to my co-workers and was reported by Wang Zhishan. I was arrested by officers from the Shunhe Police Station. Another practitioner was arrested with me. After my family and friends heard about it, they contacted people with influence and tried to get me out. The city police station forced them to pay fines and said I had to sign a statement that I would not practice Falun Gong from then on. I refused.

The other practitioner and I were secretly sent to Jiamusi City Detention Center. I clarified the facts to my guard and would not go through the detention center gate. They called out a male policeman named Wang Wei and four strong female prisoners. Wang tripped me so I fell, held me down, and handcuffed me. I resisted and, even today, there is a deep scar on my wrist. Chen Wanyou extorted 7,000 yuan from my family and stated I was on medical parole. I was released but not until later did I know that I was sentenced to two years in a labor camp.

Police Fabricate Evidence, the Prosecutor Flees, and the Judge Fakes a Signature

On July 19, 2010, I distributed booklets about Falun Gong with another practitioner, Ms. Li Xiurong, in the residential area of the police department. We were reported by Ma Tianhong. We did not cooperate and refused to get into the police car. As more and more people stopped to watch, we clarified the facts to them. Zhao Zhiming called for more officers, and they forced us into the police car. I got bruises on my arms and legs. At the station they tried to trick us into signing incriminating documents. They ransacked my home. They put items that did not belong to me on the floor of my residence and took pictures. We did not confess to anything but they charged us anyway.

In the detention center, I refused to wear the prisoner uniform, refused to do any slave labor, and, every time there were inspectors, I would speak loudly and ask to be released. I remember one time an inspector said, “We are from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and we got you arrested. What are you yelling for?” I still clarified the facts to them. Yu of the second detention center gave orders to put me in handcuffs and leg irons and place me in a tiny cell. But because I was very weak and I passed out several times, they did not keep me there.

We resisted the persecution by going on hunger strikes. When another Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Sun Libin, was very sick and no one was taking care of her, I tried to call the detention center doctor, and policewoman Li Caifang cursed me. She called me nosy. My family and co-workers tried to help me, and the police again tried to extort a large amount of money from them.

At the trial, a lawyer from Beijing defended me and asked that I be released. His defense was very powerful, and the court officials were speechless. The prosecutor even fled the courtroom. Presiding judge Li Caihong sighed and said, “What kind of trial is this? There isn't even a prosecutor.” It was hastily wrapped up. However, I was still sentenced to three years and six months in prison.

I appealed the sentence to a higher court. Presiding judge Song Peixia and two others came to the detention center and deceived me into signing a form. They said it was needed for the case. I wasn't careful and signed it, and then they immediately changed their story and said there was no use appealing. I later learned that I was tricked. They did not want to re-try me. Without notifying my family, they secretly transferred me and Ms. Li Xiurong to Heilongjiang Women's Prison.

Subjected to Brainwashing and Tortured

On December 29, 2010, I was put in the 9 th section of Heilongjiang Women's Prison. Section lead Yu Shufan and monitoring prisoner Pu Shulan forced me to sit on a stool inside a very small box. If I stepped over the boundary, they would kick me. They had different people talking to me every day to try to brainwash me. They also forced me to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong. Some nights I was forced to stay awake until midnight. I was often cursed at and beaten. Several days later, the left part of my body began to go numb and often I couldn't feel it at all. I started to get afraid and thought about my son who had no one to care for him. After being threatened by the monitoring prisoners and the police, I wrote the three statements totally against my will.

Later I was transferred to the 13 th section of the prison and was forced to do slave labor. I was very weak. I had a bad cold for over 10 days, which caused facial neuritis. My mouth was crooked, my eye drooped, and half of my body was numb. Three days later I was put on medical parole. I had to go to the hospital that they assigned and it was extremely expensive. Even without any injections or medicine, the daily cost was several hundred yuan. They called my family and said they wouldn't treat me unless my family paid them first. My health continued to get worse and worse. They got money from my former co-workers as I was hospitalized for an entire month.
