(Minghui.org) I am a doctor. I was a devout vegetarian, lay Buddhist before I began practicing Falun Dafa to cure my diseases. I worshipped and read Buddhist scriptures every day for four years. I felt my health start deteriorating one year after I became a lay Buddhist. My shoulders became stiff, and moving became very painful. I vomited whenever I took medicine.
I was predestined to embrace Dafa because of my diseases. My shoulder arthritis, which had tortured me for three years, disappeared within two weeks after I began practicing. I felt wonderful. The miraculous healing power of Falun Gong and its profound principles moved me deeply. I thus decided to firmly cultivate in Dafa. I also introduced Dafa to my family, friends, and other people I came across in daily life. Some of them also became Dafa practitioners. As Master said in “Seeking discipleship with Teacher” from Essentials for Further Advancement.
“Dafa is being spread far and wide. Those who hear about it are looking for it. Those who have obtained it are delighted with it. The number of cultivators is increasing daily and becoming countless.”
I would like to share the following cultivation experiences in saving sentient beings:
Community Secretary Awakened
I talked about Falun Dafa to my community's secretary on numerous occasions. He knows Falun Dafa is good and that all Dafa practitioners are good people. He understands that Falun Dafa has been wrongly persecuted. With sympathy, he has privately protected practitioners to the best of his ability.
After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, the 610 Office held a brainwashing session in our township, which lasted more than two weeks. The township secretary requested that each person pay 600 yuan as a security deposit to take the test. Our community secretary escorted me to and from the session every day. He privately advised me, “Don't pay the security deposit. You will never get it back.” We practitioners thus stood together and did not compromise with the evil by paying the security deposit.
In the brainwashing center, I did my best to demonstrate that “Falun Dafa is good” from the perspective of medicine. I thoroughly illustrated the relationship between Dafa cultivation and health. I described how illness stems from the mindset: “Keeping a calm and peaceful mood will prevent illness. A problem in xinxingwill negatively affect internal organs and diseases will arise.”
I also told people: “Falun Gong emphasizes cultivating the mind and improving virtue. It teaches people to be kind and requires that practitioners become good people by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Cultivation in Falun Gong can help people cure diseases and remain healthy. It also guides a person to become honest, kind and broad-minded, etc.” Some employees in the center who walked by to the restroom even stopped to listen with great interest. They also looked at us with admiration. The brainwashing class ended one week earlier than scheduled.
When the community secretary was about to retire, he came to my house and told me of his concern: “I am retiring. You need to be more careful about your safety. The regime cannot do anything to you when I am in this position as any arrest has to be agreed to by the local official. I do not allow them to attack you because you are a good person and you don't do anything bad. Now, the ruthless Public Security bureau tortures people by all means. Every year, they take the orders from their superiors to kill people.” I later clarified the truth to him and his family. They all quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.
Police Officer Awakens
I was illegally arrested and detained in 2002. A police officer who was directly involved in persecuting me told my wife, “Your husband is a good person, noble, kind, and knowledgeable. He would rather endure torture than give up practicing Falun Gong, never revealing the names of any other practitioners. He talks about Dafa's profound principles, such as how it teaches one to conduct oneself according to high moral standards by practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and about the celestial law of 'doing good will be blessed and doing evil will meet with due retribution.' This is totally new to me. I really admire him deeply from my heart."
Then he said seriously with concern, “You Falun Gong practitioners are good people. Make sure to keep the Falun Gong stuff in a safe place at all times. Never expose them casually. If they are seen, it is hard for us not to take action. Just be careful!” My wife later saw this person again in the police station when she was there to take care of some procedures. He apologetically said to her, “I no longer do that kind of work (meaning being a police officer). I am a photographer now.” I was very happy for him. Another sentient being was awakened.
A Kind-Hearted Community Clerk
According to policy, I should have been entitled to receive my social security benefits in 2008. However, the officers at the 610 Office implemented Jiang Zemin's cruel policy against Falun Dafa practitioners, which is, “Ruin their reputations, destroy them financially, and destroy them physically.” They conspired with the Social Security Bureau to persecute Falun Gong practitioners and deny my application for social security benefits using the excuse that I have not given up Falun Gong.
Our community clerk has listened to me clarify the truth about Dafa. She sympathized and cared for Falun Gong practitioners. She was dissatisfied with how I was unjustly treated. She said to the community secretary, “He was an educated youth member in the rural area for ten years before he worked for more than ten years. Now, he is old and has financial difficulties. He no longer practices Falun Gong. He is entitled to the social security benefit.” The community secretary was very happy to hear that I no longer practiced Falun Gong. He immediately called the police so that I could register in the afternoon, and even left his phone number. The community clerk told me, “I already told them that you no longer practice Falun Gong. You will receive 1,000 yuan monthly after you pay the Social Security Bureau 10,000 yuan as deposit.
I honestly told her, “I appreciate your concern and care, but I am still practicing Falun Gong. We practitioners behave nobly and openly. I always tell the truth and never lie under any circumstance. It would be an insult to Dafa and a disrespect to Master if I did as you say.” I then told her that I have been illegally arrested and persecuted twice. I never said “I'll stop practicing Falun Gong,” even when I faced a severe choice between life and death. The social security payment is just a secular interest. She was very moved when I said that.
Returning Unjustifiable Wealth to its Owner
My daughter worked in another town in 2003. Her company put off paying its employee's wages because business was not doing well. When she tried to withdraw some money to go home at the end of the month, she found that her account had an extra 5,600 yuan in it. She wondered who put the money in her account.
She told my wife and me about this situation. We quickly reached an agreement. We first thought that, as Master Li's disciples, we uphold the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and can't take money which doesn't belong to us. We must consider others first. We should quickly locate the owner who must be very worried. We thus immediately rushed to the bank and asked them to help look for the owner.
The clerk at the bank said, “We only see people coming in to find fault with a discrepancy in their accounts. You are the only people who have ever come in to request to be debited since we opened this business. People now swindle money by any means. They always think any money in their hands is theirs.” We told her, “We are Falun Gong practitioners. We want to be good people. We always consider others first.” She was surprised and looked at us admiringly. She then registered the funds as a misapplied payment and reported the issue to the headquarters.
The owner of the lost money called the next day, saying that he would like to come over and thank us in person. We told him, “You don't need to thank us. If you want, you can thank our Master, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. We are kindhearted because Master Li has taught us to adhere to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Dafa has widely spread to more than 114 countries around the world. Please remember, 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good'. Don't believe the slanderous propaganda from the wicked party.”
The owner thanked us and told us that he reported the loss to the bank headquarters and asked them to look for the lost money one week ago. The person in charge told him that they had almost one million saving accounts and had no way of finding it.
The owner lives in Mianyang and works as a cashier for a private enterprise. Although the boss of the company is his relative, he was told before he was hired that in addition to room and board, his monthly pay was 600 yuan, and he will pay for any mistakes he makes. He said, “The loss of 5,600 yuan would take me a whole year to pay off without spending anything. I have parents and children. I have really encountered good people. Thank you. Also many thanks to Master Li. I will surely remember 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good'. Thank you again!”
