Additional Persecution News from China – October 10, 2013 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Mingxing Tortured in Prison

Mr. Gao Mingxing has been tortured in the “heavy guard” section of the Shenyang No. 1 Prison. His life is in danger.

2. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison; One in Critical Condition

Ms. Hao Funing, Ms. Feng Xiaoling, and Ms. Chen Shulan were sentenced to four-year prison terms by the Changping District Court.

Ms. Li Yanling is being held at the Police Hospital and tortured. She may be dying.

3. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Yang Yanqin Detained

Ms. Yang Yanqin was arrested at home by officers from the Nanhu Police Station of Zhuanglang County on the morning of September 29, 2013. She was taken to the Nanhu Police Station and then transferred to the Zhuanglang County Detention Center, where she was held for 15 days. Officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and informational materials.

4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Sulan and Ms. Meng Xiangfen Detained

Ms. Chen Sulan and Ms. Meng Xiangfen were arrested by officers from the Wangshi Town Police Station on the afternoon of October 7, 2013, while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Chen's husband was also arrested, but released that evening. Ms. Chen and Ms. Meng are being held at the Yuemingshan Detention Center.

5. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhao Xian Detained

Mr. Zhao Xian was arrested at home on October 7, 2013. He is being held in Nongan County.

6. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ma Guiyue Imprisoned

Ms. Ma Guiyue, in her 50s, was arrested at the Mingchu Plaza and taken to the Lianhua Police Station on September 15, 2013, for speaking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term on October 8, 2013, and transferred to the Anhui Province Suzhou Prison.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Binglan and Ms. Qian Yanping Detained

Ms. Chen Binglan and Ms. Qian Yanping were arrested at a farmers' market while speaking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of September 29, 2013. Agents from the local Residential Committee and police station made the arrest. The two practitioners are being held at the Tongnan County Detention Center.

8. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhou Guoxuan Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhou Guoxuan was forced to leave home for more than a year in order to avoid arrest. He worked part-time in Guangzhou City, where he was recently arrested. He was taken to Xingyang City around September 20, 2013. His current whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Deyu Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liu Deyu was incarcerated in the Fanjiatai Prison for four years. She was released in August 2013, but arrested again the following month by the local 610 Office. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
