Additional Persecution News from China – August 27, 2013 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 6 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xinmin, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Lifeng, Ms. Cao Yang, and Ms. Wang Jing in Prison

Ms. Yu Lifeng was arrested on August 28, 2012. She is being held in Dalian Prison. Ms. Cao Yang is being detained in Benxi Prison in Liaoning Province while Ms. Wang Jing is in Shenyang Prison.

2. [Lanzhou, Gansu Province] Ms. Sheng Chunmei Persecuted to Near Blindness

Ms. Sheng Chunmei from Lanzhou University and her husband, Mr. Chen Deguang, were arrested by police from Huazhuang Town when they went there to distribute Shen Yun DVDs in July 2011. Mr. Chen was sent to the Honggu District Detention Center. He was transferred to the Lanzhou Second Detention Center in November 2011. Ms. Sheng obtained a guarantor pending trial due to her physical condition.

In July 2012, the Honggu Police Department, the Anning Police Department, Lanzhou Intermediate Court, and the Yintanlu Police Station collaborated to send Ms. Sheng to the Lanzhou First Detention Center. The Honggu District Court sentenced her to nine years in prison. As a result of the persecution, Ms. Sheng now suffers from many illnesses, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. She is almost blind.

3. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ding Defu Arrested on the Afternoon of August 26, 2013

4. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jing Arrested

Ms. Li Jing from Xinji, Shijizhuang, was arrested at work on August 26, 2013. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Li was taken to the Shangchangjie Police Station in Xinji.

5. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Feng Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Feng Guizhi was arrested on August 10, 2013. She was transferred to the Harbin Second Detention Center from the Harbin Lockup Center on August 21, 2013.

6. [Shanghai] Mr. Ye Xiaoping Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Mr. Ye Xiaoping from the Baoshan District was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He was sent to the Baoshan Detention Center on July 2, 2013.

Mr. Ye was arrested on August 20, 2012. His wife, Ms. Xi Jiao, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison and was held in Songjiang Women's Prison. She was tortured so severely that she became mentally disabled and has yet to recover.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Fan Limin Arrested

Ms. Fan Limin from the Jingan District was arrested by officers from the Jingan Police Department on August 26, 2013. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Fan is being detained in the Jingan Detention Center.

8. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Xiaofeng Arrested

On August 26, 2013, five or six domestic security agents rushed into the store Mr. Lin Xiaofeng manages and arrested him. His computer was confiscated.

9. [Xinxiang, Henan Province] Mr. Zou Longyu Arrested

Mr. Zou Longyu, 69, was arrested in the Fengquan District of Xinxiang at the beginning of August 2013. He is being detained in the Xinxiang Detention Center.

10. [Li County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Zhihui Arrested

On August 25, 2013, Mr. Liu Zhihui from Daliu Village, Xiaochen Township, Li County, was followed and arrested by officers from the Li County 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Xiaochen Township Police Station. Mr. Liu is being detained in the Xiaochen Police Station.
