(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Sufen and her family members have been persecuted, followed and monitored by the 610 Office personnel in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province for a long time. Ms. Liu's family finally got fed up and resisted the persecution. Ms. Liu's daughter, Deng Xin is an English teacher. Not long ago, the 610 Office arrested her, saying that she was “having mental problems” and she was taken to a brainwashing center. They also extorted several tens of thousands of yuan in cash that Ms. Deng was going to use to pay for an operation.

Ms. Deng Xin, 31, has been the English teacher in Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan City for over 10 years. She helped produce an English program titled “Happy English” in cooperation with the local TV station. She had a very lively and vivid teaching style, and was very popular among the students. The students knew her as “Happy Teacher” or “Happy Sister.” The students' parents were also impressed with her capabilities and teaching philosophy and trusted her.

Around 10:30 a.m. on August 27, 2013, when Ms. Deng was on her way home from school, about 30 officers from the 610 Office in Heyuan City and Xiaolan Town, along with the local police let the air out of Ms. Deng's car tires. They then confiscated her laptop and over 40 thousand yuan in cash that Ms. Deng had saved to pay for an operation. She was forcibly taken to a brainwashing center in Sanshui City, Guangdong Province.

Later, officers from the 610 Office broke into Ms. Deng's rented apartment and conducted an illegal search. They took away her youngest sister's laptop and digital camera. They also restrained her mother and her youngest sister. They stole another 30 thousand yuan in cash while they were rummaging around. The director of the 610 Office in Heyuan City, Liu Xinhui, said only one sentence, “Your elder sister has mental problems, and so we took her away.” They left the apartment with the confiscated property and cash.

While Ms. Deng was being arrested, Ye Qixin from the 610 Office in Heyuan City led the police from the Chengxi Police Station to Ms. Deng's younger sister's company to interrogate her. She was not allowed to contact her family members. They intended to take her to the Chengxi Police Station and the Sanshui Brainwashing Center for brainwashing, claiming that she and Ms. Deng Xin had posted articles on an international website.

Meanwhile, Wang, the chief of the Domestic Security Division in Heyuan City, led another group of officers to Ms. Deng's home in Heyuan City. They demanded that Ms. Deng's father open the door even though they did not have a search warrant. They attempted to take away a computer to investigate what was on it. After a series of arguments and with Ms. Deng's father's steadfast resistance, the police were not able to take the computer away.

Ms. Deng's family members were very worried about her and kept close track of her situation. They planned to go to Sanshui to see her but the police would not let them. Ms. Deng Xin is in very poor health. The doctors diagnosed her with a cyst and told her she needed to have surgery as soon as possible. She has had to endure round after round of brainwashing by about 12 officers and her health condition is very worrisome.

Every day Ms. Deng's father goes to the 610 Office to request her release, but each time he is turned down. We hope the international community will shine some light on her situation and help to rescue her.

Background:

At the end of 2010, the home of Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Liu Sufen, from Heyuan City was illegally searched and she was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Her younger daughter (Ms. Deng's younger sister) was also arrested at her place of employment in Zhongshan City and taken back to Heyuan City for illegal interrogation.

Ms. Liu suffered many forms of physical and mental torture at the labor camp. Although she was over 50 years old, she was still forced to labor every day for over 10 hours. Ms. Liu later suffered a sudden heart attack.

Because her family members visited her at the same time every month and wrote letters to her, they noticed the worsening of her condition. The labor camp personnel eventually released Ms. Liu early in fear that she might die and they would be held responsible for her death. Ms. Liu carried out the remainder of her term outside of the labor camp.

The 610 Office has tightly monitored her family members. Ms. Liu was sentenced to forced labor for the first time in 2000. The family has had their cell phone communication, internet activity, work place and everyday activities monitored. The police even assigned the neighbor's relatives, Deng Yushi and others to constantly watch them. Liu Xinhui admitted that he has been monitoring Ms. Liu's family for about 6 years.

Since Ms. Liu's family members were fed up with the 610 Office's persecution and constant harassment, they never compromised with them. The 610 Office personnel have always regarded that family as a thorn in their side. so they fabricated evidence to arrest and persecute Ms. Deng Xin this time.
