Additional Persecution News from China – December 20, 2012 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 23 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Lian'ai Detained; 610 Office Extorts Money From Daughter

Ms. Li Lian'ai from Huaihua City was arrested and sent to the county detention center for speaking to people about Falun Gong on December 19, 2009. Yang Te from the Jingzhou County 610 Office and officers from the local Domestic Security Division also ransacked her home. Ms. Li was released after the officers extorted 36,000 yuan from her daughter, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner.

On December 2011, the head of the local 610 Office, Shi Changming, and other agents burst into Ms. Li's daughter's business and seized 6,000 yuan in cash, claiming that they were investigating Ms. Li for helping people quit the Chinese Communist Party.

2. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Su Wen Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Mr. Su Wen, Mr. Xu Baozhen, Mr. Jiang Shouzhong and Mr. Wang Wei were put on trial on December 17, 2012. Mr. Su was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The others are still detained and awaiting the verdict.

3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gong Chengge Arrested

Mr. Gong Chengge was arrested on December 14, 2012, in Qingmei Village in Mudanjiang.

4. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Many Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Hualian, Ms. Liao Xiaolan, Ms. Yu Yufang, practitioner with surname Huang, and others were arrested on December 12, 2012.

5. [Yangxin County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Guihua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guihua was arrested at home on November 7, 2012, by over a dozen officers from the Yangxin County Police Department. She was detained in the Fengshan area of Yangxin County for eight days. Her family was not allowed to see her. Police confiscated her Falun Gong books and forced her youngest son to reveal the source of her Falun Gong materials.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Miao Fengling Detained

Ms. Miao Fengling, 54, from Hebei District in Tianjin was arrested at home on the afternoon of December 17, 2012. Her computer, printer and other items were confiscated. She is being held at the Pujihedao Detention Center in Hebei District.

7. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Yuerong Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Zhang Yuerong, 70, is retired from the Fuyang Textile Company. She was tried and sentenced to three years in prison by the Yingzhou District Court in Fuyang City on December 10, 2012. Authorities are planning to transfer her to Suzhou Prison in Anhui Province.

8. [Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Fan Xiaolian Detained

Ms. Fan Xiaolian from Jiexiu City, Jinzhong, was arrested at home by officers from the Jiexiu City Domestic Security Division on October 24, 2012. Her computer, two cell phones and Falun Gong informational materials were confiscated. She is being held at the Yuci Detention Center.

9. [Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Wenge Detained

Mr. Lu Wenge was arrested on December 17, 2012. He is being held at the Ning'an City Detention Center.

10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Yangbi Detained; Mr. Zeng Dekuan Harassed

Mr. Zeng Dekuan was harassed at home by Yang Jiayong and 20-plus other officers from the Luoshui Town Police Station in Shifang City on the afternoon of December 18, 2012.

Ms. Chen Yangbi was arrested and sent to the Shifang Detention Center.

11. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yan Yongling, Ms. Zhang Xiurong, Ms. Zhang Yajie, Ms. Liu Lanfeng and Ms. Yu Xiang from Anda City were arrested by officers from the Yangcao Police Station on November 13, 2012, while they spoke to people about Falun Gong. The practitioners, all in their 70s, are being held at the Anda City Detention Center.

12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ma Caoshan and Mr. Wu Zutao Arrested

Ms. Ma Caoshan and Mr. Wu Zutao were arrested on December 17, 2012. Their whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Shi Xiangpu Imprisoned

Mr. Shi Xiangpu has been incarcerated in Ward No. 4 of the Daqing Prison.

14. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Zhixiong Facing Trial

Mr. Yang Zhixiong is facing an illegal trial.

15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Put on Trial

Mr. Zhai Hui, Mr. Meng Qingjie and Mr. Jiang Dexin were arrested by officers from the Shenhe Domestic Security Division on April 15, 2012. They have been held at the Shenhe Detention Center for more than 8 months. They were put on trial by the Shenhe District Court on December 25, 2012.

16. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Dechun Detained

Mr. Wang Dechun from Nuanshuihe Village was arrested by officers from the Linqu County 610 Office and Wujing Town Police Station on December 18, 2012. He is still detained.

17. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Guilan Detained

Ms. Zhao Guilan from Longwan Village, Dasiping Town, was arrested on December 10, 2012, while she spoke to people about Falun Gong. She has been incarcerated in the Xiaoshi Detention Center in Benxi City.

18. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Gao Yulan, Ms. Cong Yu'e and Ms. Wang Lizhi were arrested by officers from the Qiaotou Police Station when they spoke to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Gao and Ms. Wang are being held in police custody. Ms. Cong has been sent to a detention center.
