I hope to take this opportunity to share important facts about Falun Gong with you," Mr. Chun-Hung Lin replied, with a poster board displaying photos of Falun Gong practitioners around the world. Mr. Lin added, "There are also many posters here that display facts about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong. You are welcome to look at them if you like."

Mr. Chun-Hung Lin, 32, a graduate of Shu-Te University, works at an architectural firm as a design supervisor. He has been traveling from Yi-Lan to Taipei and clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at "Taipei 101" (a landmark building located in the Xinyi District) every second and fourth Sunday. The Chinese tourist that asked him if he had a day job began to quietly listen to Lin as he told the man how Falun Gong has spread around the world. Lin explained that Falun Gong practitioners come from all walks of life and different age groups.

While a group of tourists from Japan stopped at the posters to look at the pictures, a tour guide explained to them the text on the posters—“The Chinese communist regime harvests organs from living, breathing Falun Gong practitioners for profit, and tortures Falun Gong practitioners who refuse to renounce Falun Gong.” The tourists frowned as they listened to the tour guide translating the contents on the posters.
Cultivation is commonly perceived as something that only elderly or retired people would pursue in Taiwan. Why would a young man in the architectural world be interested in the cultivation practice of Falun Gong?
Mr. Chun-Hung Lin had a good friend that he has known from childhood all the way through junior high. One day Lin went to his house and saw a book titled Zhuan Falun on his desk. He was curious about the unusual title of the book and asked his friend about it. "It is Buddha Fa (Law)," his friend replied. Lin said he didn't understand any Buddhist scriptures he had read before. "But this one is different,” his friend said. “It is written in the modern Chinese language. It is very easy to understand. Even I can understand it. You should be able to understand it too."
Mr. Lin recalled: "When I saw Teacher's photo in Zhuan Falun, I found his face very familiar. I read Lunyu first and thought it was wonderful. I randomly read the contents and found it was really written in modern Chinese. The book talks about fundamental problems in life and answers my questions. It is very easy to understand," Mr. Lin said with a smile. He went back to his friend's house several times in order to read Zhuan Falun.
Lin had always been interested in divination. He had his fortune told a few times, but what he really wanted was a way to alter his fortune. He went to bookstores many times to seek a way to alter his fortune. When he finally found Falun Gong's books, he really wanted to start practicing Falun Gong. He was worried that his parents might object, so he decided to wait until he graduated from college to start practicing Falun Gong.
As soon as he graduated from college in 2003, Lin immediately started practicing Falun Gong.
Why was he interested in divination in his early teens? Lin recalled a story back when he was seven.
"My family lived near a river dam when I was little. I enjoyed painting, watching wildlife, and viewing pictures and documentaries on wildlife. One day I saw a picture of a dragon and a phoenix on a tabletop at home. I had never seen a real dragon or phoenix in a documentary film. Did they really exist? I thought about it. If people can portray their eyes, talons, feathers, and colors, they must have existed. It was summertime. Several days later I was laying in bed feeling very warm when I suddenly felt cool. I felt as though I had ascended to the sky. I must have been 10 meters in the air. I looked down and saw my home. I saw night lights. I saw wind sending leaves waving. I could even see tree branches. Next I saw a row of dragons and phoenixes lining up on the river dam in a neat formation. They each were doing their own things. Each one was very tall, about three-stories high. They each emitted very gentle light in a color that is out of this world. I saw one in ombré green with yellow in the outer layer. It looked translucent at first. As I looked harder, it became opaque. In the end I had only a limited vision. I could only look at a small area or a small spot at a time, but I could see a wide range of colors. The greens and yellows remained in ombré. I stayed for a little longer before I descended back to my room.
"I wondered if it was merely a dream when I woke up the next morning. But I even heard phoenixes singing. If I could hear them, that must have been true. I believe in what I saw. I believe in the existence of divine beings. I can feel the existence of other dimensions."
Lin would hear a phoenix chirping when he first started to learn Falun Gong's sitting meditation. It was then he remembered he had heard the phoenix back in junior high. When he listened to Teacher's lectures in Dalian for the first time, Lin heard phoenix chirping too.

When asked of the biggest difference about him since he started practicing Falun Gong, Lin considered and said, "I have become more optimistic and open-minded. It becomes easier for me to identify problems."
"Falun Gong cultivation is very helpful to my job. I know how to prioritize things. I will not leave problems to fester. I will take care of everything that needs to be solved, but I can do it with a peaceful mind. I no longer get anxious when I run into problems. I can face obstacles with a positive mind. I don't feel down or defeated when I fail. I will learn lessons from the experience and know not to repeat my mistake. I tend to do better next time, which helps my career grow."
Mr. Kuang-Hui Lee, a retired schoolteacher from Yilan, was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to Chinese tourists. (He is the man in yellow shirt with a poster board in his hands.)
Some other Falun Gong practitioner that have come to Taipei 101 are Mr. Kuang-Hui Lee, who is a retired schoolteacher from Yilan, Ms. Hsiang-Lan Lee, a Taiwanese aboriginal from Wulai, Hsintian, and many government employees and housewives. They spend their weekends and holidays as volunteers, clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to Chinese tourists, who do not have access to the information in China.
Ms. Hsiang-Lan Lee has big eyes, honey-colored skin, and a loud voice, all typical traits of Taiwanese aboriginals. She said she did not have such a healthy complexion eight years ago. She was diagnosed with hepatic cirrhosis with only one week to live. She decided to shop for groceries for the very last time. She went to Bitan Market and told a vegetable vendor, "I am unable to eat anything. All my organs are failing. I have not had any bowel movements for days." A Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Tsao, was behind her and overheard her. Ms. Tsao beckoned her. "Come over here. Stop brooding. I used to suffer from hypertension and diabetes, but Falun Gong has cured me."

She thought, "I only have days left. Why don't I give it a try?" She started practicing Falun Gong and studied Falun Gong books on July 17. She found herself still alive after two months. She decided to start a new Falun Gong group practice site and join a study group.
At first, she did not have a good understanding about Falun Gong's teaching. It was during the election time for the village mayor. It is a norm that candidates buy people's votes. One candidate gave her $2,000 NTD for her vote and another gave her $3,000 NTD. She didn't think there was anything wrong with it because everyone else accepted the bribes. She ended up accepting nearly $10,000 NTD.
"One night I woke up from sleep only to find a snake right next to me. It was just about to enter my body when I realized that I should not pursue anything that does not belong to me."
Teacher said,
"If something is yours, you will not lose it. If something is not yours, you will not have it even if you fight for it."

"I should not have accepted the bribes. I immediately returned all the money," Ms. Lee said.
Ms. Lee is also very attached to her husband. She said that her husband has had seven women, including her. She was constantly worried that he might have an affair. She would always follow him and make sure he wasn't seeing anyone else. One day she was on a scooter in 2010 following her husband when she suddenly had an accident. She had three stitches on one side of her face. It festered for a long time. Her face swelled and she could not walk due to her leg injury.
She finally faced her attachment after this accident. She started practicing Falun Gong exercises and studying the Fa more diligently. She also searched inward for her attachments. She said it was an agonizing process. She started with practicing Falun Gong's sitting meditation for five minutes only. She had difficulty walking due to her leg injury, but she insisted on cooking for her husband and son and doing all the household chores. She was completely healed in 34 days. There was not a scar on her face. She did not take any antibiotics either. Her son marveled at her recovery.
Nowadays Ms. Lee has a very smooth and fine complexion. You would never know she is 53 years old. She goes to Taipei 101 nearly every day to clarify the truth to Chinese tourists. If she is busy with her family business, she will at least go to the tourist site four days a week. She said that Falun Gong has given her a new lease on life and she will share her personal story with Chinese people. She urges them not to believe in the Chinese Communist regime's hateful propaganda at the price of losing their chance for a good future.
