(Minghui.org) Two police officers from Changsha City arrested Ms. Cai Xinou on the morning of August 5, 2012 as she was distributing materials about Falun Gong at a vegetable market. She was taken to the Wenyi Road Police Station, where they tried to force her to have her photo taken, and to sign a document and have her fingerprints put on it. Ms. Cai firmly refused to comply. Officers Hu Heming and Li Dan then began physically abusing her. Hu grabbed hold of Ms. Cai's hair and thrust his knee into her abdomen. Li handcuffed her hands behind her back, and then violently pulled her hands upwards. Ms. Cai was in such extreme pain that she sweated profusely. The two officers then deprived her of water and food for a day.

Officials at the police station sentenced Ms. Cai to an 18-month forced labor term the next day, and took her to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. When she failed a physical examination, the camp officials refused to accept her. Hu Heming and other police officers then took Ms. Cai to have a checkup at Zhuzhou People's Hospital, but officials at the labor camp still refused to accept her. Li Dan then phoned the person-in-charge of the Forced Labor Committee, to request that they put pressure on the labor camp officials to accept her. The committee official told Li to inform Ms. Cai's family to take her home. When the family members came to collect her, the police extorted 170 yuan from them for the cost of the hospital examinations before they would release her.
