(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa has spread all over the world in the past 20 years. Our local Dafa practitioners have not been severely targeted by the persecution led by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and have diligently persisted in cultivation. During 13 years of persecution in China, these practitioners have striven to be good people and performed good deeds for others. The following are several examples of this:
Several Falun Dafa practitioners (including a 70-year-old woman), always volunteered to shovel snow when heavy snowstorms caused traffic jams. Although some people did not understand our deeds, most drivers and pedestrians were touched and said, “Thank you, Falun Dafa practitioners!” Some drivers even provided us with a ride home. Once a taxi driver said, “You Falun Dafa practitioners always benefit others. Today I will follow your example. I will drive you home for only half the fee.”
Once, a vehicle was trapped on a snowy road and we cleared the snow ahead of the vehicle little by little until it reached its destination. The driver felt very much indebted and invited us to have a short break and refreshments at his home. We respectfully declined his invitation because we helped out with the idea of expecting nothing in return.
Several years ago the entrance road to the neighboring village frequently flooded. This always presented many problems for vehicles and pedestrians. We bought several tons of gravel and sand out of our own pockets and repaved the road. It took us several days to finish the project. Some villagers said, “It was our responsibility to fix this road, yet we did nothing. You are indeed good persons to help us out like this!”
A bridge built in 2012 had archways made of cement tubes with diameters less than 1 meter. Following storms they would become blocked with debris. To maintain the safety of the bridge, we volunteered to take the responsibility of keeping the archways clear of debris. Sometimes it was not easy for us to do that. We had to climb into the tubes and remove all kinds of filthy debris, little by little. Our volunteer activities were praised and appreciated by the local people and village cadres. Through our work, they were able to understand that Falun Dafa is good.
Although we still have some shortcomings at present, we will do better and better as we continue to cultivate in Falun Dafa.
