(Minghui.org) More than 70 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested on July 6, 2012 by officers from the Dalian City Police Department, the Dalian City 610 Office, the Dalian City Zhongshan District Police Department and several police stations in Jinzhou New District. Mr. Yu Changshun, the manager of the Dalian branch of an insulation material company in Beijing, was among them. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor and is being detained in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp. His arrest left his father—over 70 years old—and his mute and deaf brother, at home without care. His daughter was admitted by a college but was unable to attend because she could not afford it.

Mr. Yu Changshun is 48 years old. His hometown was Daliba Village, Daliba Township in Songyuan City, Jilin Province. He used to suffer from severe leg pains and headaches. When he heard about Falun Gong bringing great health improvement, he began to practice it. His illnesses disappeared and his overall health was much improved. He also removed bad habits from the past. His business was doing better and better.

After the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999, Mr. Yu was targeted repeatedly.

In July 2001, when Mr. Yu went on a business trip to Shenyang City, he was arrested by secret police from the 610 Office. Over 10,000 yuan in cash that he had on him was confiscated and has never been returned. Mr. Yu was tortured and sentenced to three years of forced labor. He was first detained in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp. At the labor camp, he was tortured until he became paralyzed and unable to take care of himself. A labor camp official, Wang Shiwei, tried to transfer Mr. Yu to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp. The Benxi Forced Labor Camp refused to accept him, and he was sent back to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp.

During his detention in the labor camp, his residential registration was revoked. Local police went to his home and threatened his wife, telling her that they would keep coming back unless she divorced Mr. Yu. Because of the pressure, Mr. Yu's wife indeed divorced him.

Despite the torture, Mr. Yu, after his release, was able to regain his health. In August 2006, when Mr. Yu was doing business in the Dalian City Development District, he was arrested by the police from the Development District Police Department. His products were confiscated along with his cars. The cars were not returned to him until two years later. He was held in the detention center and beaten until he became paralyzed again. He was unable to move his back and legs or walk. However, Xu Yungang, an officer in the Development District 610 Office, sent him to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp for two years of forced labor without notifying Mr. Yu or his family. The labor camp officials tortured him mentally and physically, ignoring his health condition. In 2007, Mr. Yu was transferred to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp. His company was forced to shut down.

After Mr. Yu was released, he started his business again. Later, his company became the Dalian branch of an insulation material company in Beijing and he was appointed the manager. However, he was arrested again in June 2011 by officers from the Zhongchang Police Station in Jinzhou District, Dalian. After he had been detained in the Jinzhou Sanli Detention Center for more than three months, he was sent to the Luotaishan Brainwashing Center in Fushu City, Liaoning Province.

Mr. Yu's daughter was admitted to a good university in Beijing in fall of 2011, but she could not afford the tuition. She went to Fushun to visit her father. By then, Mr. Yu was bedridden. One of his legs was swollen and he couldn't lift anything with his right arm. His hair became all white in just a few months and he lost more than 30 pounds. When Mr. Yu was released in November 2011, his daughter began planning to go to the university with his help.

On July 6, 2012, however, Mr. Yu was arrested again. His company was again forced to shut down. His daughter once again cannot afford to go to college. His family, including his elderly father and disabled brother, is anxiously waiting for his return.
