(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 34 cities or counties in 18 provinces. According to this report, 28 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 47 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Xiaodong Tried Secretly

Mr. Wang Xiaodong from Zhouguantun Village, Fu Town, Botou City, Cangzhou City, was secretly tried on July 18, 2012. He was not allowed to hire a defense attorney. The court assigned an attorney for him.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Guang, Mr. Yang Zhiping and Mr. Zhang Zhizhong Detained

Mr. Li Guang, Mr. Yang Zhiping, and Mr. Zhang Zhizhong from Jinzhou City were arrested by officers from the Jinzhou Police Department, led by chief Li Meishan, on the afternoon of July 12, 2012. Mr. Yang's and Mr. Zhang's computers and printers were confiscated. These three practitioners are being held at the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

3. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Chen Fuzhong Arrested

Mr. Chen Fuzhong, 67, was arrested by plainclothes officers at the Yingbin Road Park on the afternoon of July 17, 2012.

4. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Mengshan Detained

Ms. Zheng Mengshan from Taoshan District was arrested by officers from the Taobei Police Station on July 16, 2012, when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials. Her home was ransacked that night. She is being held at the Qitaihe First Detention Center.

5. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xiu Taken to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chen Xiu was arrested at her store by officers from the 610 Office and police station on July 4, 2012. She was recently secretly tried in the local court and then taken to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Chunlie Arrested

Mr. Jiang Chunlie from Mingcheng Town, Panshi City, was arrested by Wu Dechun and other officers from the Comprehensive Administration Office, as well as officers from the Mingcheng Town Police Station, on the morning of July 17, 2012.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Chunxia and Her Mother Detained

Officers from the Huanghai Road Police Station, Dalian Development Zone, went to Ms. Wang Chunxia's home on the morning of July 6, 2012, and arrested her parents. They confiscated a computer and a printer. Then the officers went to Ms. Wang's work place and arrested Ms. Wang and her sister, who is not a practitioner. Her sister (Ms. Wang Chunyan) and her father were released the same day. Ms. Wang and her mother, Ms. Wang Zhouhuan, were taken to the Yaojia Detention Center. Ms. Wang has been on a hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest.

8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xiaoqin and Her Daughter Ms. Li Xiaoya Detained

Ms. Liu Xiaoqin and her daughter Ms. Li Xiaoya, from Ma Village, Shifo Town, Anguo City, were arrested by officers from the Xicheng Police Station on July 16, 2012, when they were speaking to people about Falun Gong at a market. They were taken to the Shifo Police Station. Falun Gong books and materials, a computer, and a printer were confiscated from their home. They are being held at the Anguo City Detention Center.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Yili Sentenced to 2.5 Years of Forced Labor

Mr. Zhang Yili was arrested at night on June 8, 2012. He was then sentenced to 2.5 years of forced labor. Currently, he is being held at the detention center of the Dongcheng District Police Department.

10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Yu Furong Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Yu Furong was arrested in the beginning of July 2012 by officers from the Shouyi Road Police Station and Neighborhood Administration Committee. He was taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang District.

11. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shufen and Ms. Yue Zhaohua Detained

Ms. Wang Shufen and Ms. Yue Zhaohua, in their 50s, were reported to the authorities when they were distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Qinghua County. They were arrested on the afternoon of July 16, 2012, by officers from the Yaozhan Police Station in Qingyuan Town. They are being held at the Fushun City Detention Center.

12. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Ailing Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Ailing was followed and arrested by police when she was in Jichun City on the morning of June 16, 2012. She is being held the Wuhan City Brainwashing Center.

13. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Shixin Taken to Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Wang Shixin, from Huai'an City, went to the Qingpu Police Department on the morning of June 12, 2012, to ask for his laptop, printer, Falun Gong books, and other belongings that had been taken from him. He was arrested there and sent to a brainwashing center before being transferred to a detention center. Mr. Wang was then sentenced to 1.5 years of forced labor. In the beginning of July 2012, he was transferred to the Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp.

14. [Beijing] More Than 10 Practitioners Arrested

Police officers from the Domestic Security Division of Dongcheng Police Department and Tiantan Police Station arrested more than 10 practitioners in Tiantan Park, including Ms. Gao Yichi and Ms. Wang Jixian. The arrests occurred on the morning of July 16, 2012,

15. [Honghu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Jiuyun and Four Other Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wan Jiuyun, Ms. Wang Xinyu, Ms. Xiong Zhengying, Ms. Guan Hongjuan, and Ms. Yu Yan, all from Honghu City or Jingzhou City, were arrested by officers from the Datong Police Station, Honghu City, on June 5, 2012. They are being held at the Honghu City Detention Center.

16. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Wang Yaowen Detained

Mr. Wang Yaowen, 52, from Wangjin Village, Dingxiang County, was arrested when he spoke to people about Falun Gong in the Jiang Village of the county on the afternoon of July 10, 2012. The arrest was carried out by officers from the Jiangcun Town Police Station, the local police department and its domestic security division. Mr. Wang's home was ransacked the next morning; two laptops, a printer, a DVD burner, a cell phone, a satellite receiver, and other personal belongings were confiscated. Mr. Wang was taken to the Xinzhou City Detention Center during the night.

17. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Yang Shuqin was arrested at work on the morning of July 19, 2012.

18. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Du Xiaoming Arrested

Mr. Du Xiaoming was recently arrested.

19. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hongwei and Ms. Jiang Suqin Detained

Ms. Wang Hongwei and Ms. Jiang Suqin, both from Bajianfang, Lingyuan City, were arrested when they explained the facts about Falun Gong to people in Songsanjia Village, Wuhua Township, Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, on the morning of July 14, 2012. They are being held at the Ningcheng County Detention Center.

20. [Tianjin] Ms. Sun Guiying Arrested

Ms. Sun Guiying was arrested by officers from the Donglou Police Station in Hexi District on the morning of July 18, 2012. Her family asked for visitation rights but were refused.

21. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Jixiang and Ms. Gui Gui Detained

Ms. Wang Jixiang, in her 60s, from Hongshan District, Wuhan City, was stopped by an agent in black clothes while she spoke to passersby about Falun Gong on the night of July 15, 2012. Two copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party were found in her handbag, and she was arrested. Ms. Gui Gui, 47, who was with Ms. Wang, was also arrested. Later, the two women were taken to the Wuhan City First Detention Center by officers from the Luonan Police Station.

22. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Lianying Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison

Ms. Zhang Lianying, 62, was arrested by officer Han Zheng from the Pingfang Township Police Station at night on April 11, 2012. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Chaoyang Detention Center. Because she refused to write the guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong, she was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Nearly 20 Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Nearly 20 practitioners were arrested in Zhanqi Village, Tangchang Town, Pi County, Chengdu City, in the afternoon of July 9, 2012 . They are being held at the Pi County Detention Center. These practitioners include Ms. Liao Dairong, Ms. Meng Yiqiu, Ms. Gao Guorong, Ms. Gao Guoqin, Ms. Zhang Daqun, Ms. Pan Shengxiu, Ms. Huang Shifang, Ms. Cao Daiyu, Ms. Cui Faxiu, Ms. Yi Kerong, Mr. Ren Zuhua, Ms. Jiang Bixian, Ms. Zhang Yuhua, Ms. Li Qun, and others. Ms. Liao was severely beaten and her arm was broken.

24. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xiong Guirong Detained

Ms. Xiong Guirong from Guiyang City was reported to the authorities when she spoke to people about Falun Gong on the morning of June 4, 2012. She was arrested and is being held at the Nanming District Detention Center.

25. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shuqing and Ms. Wang Jinfeng Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuqing and Ms. Wang Jinfeng were arrested on the morning of July 17, 2012.

26. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yan Jingyun Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Yan Jingyun from Pingyi County was arrested in the end of June 2012, when he was putting up Falun Gong informational stickers. Officers from the Pingyi County Police Department made the arrest. Mr. Yan's whereabouts are unknown.

27. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Changying Arrested

Ms. Liu Changying was arrested on the morning of July 18, 2012, when she spoke to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Zhangdian Stadium Police Station.

28. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Shouyuan Detained

Ms. Zhang Shouyuan, 63, from Xiangtan City was arrested by officers from the Yaowan Police Station of the Yuhu Police Department when she was putting up Falun Gong informational stickers on the wall at Shaziling in Yuhu District on the afternoon of July 13, 2012. She is being held at the Jintangwan Detention Center in Xiangtan City. Police officers ransacked her home and confiscated all Falun Gong books and materials, including 200 currency bills with truth-clarifying messages written on them.

29. [Zhangjiakou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Hailian and Ms. Liu Shiying Arrested

Ms. Hu Hailian and Ms. Liu Shiying from Guyuan County were reported by Xue Guodong, a police officer, when they spoke to some middle school students about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 14, 2012. They were arrested and taken to the Guyuan County Police Department. They were released that night.

30. [Daxing'anling Region, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Liu Qizhi Arrested; Home Ransacked

Mr. Liu Qizhi, 76, was reported to the authorities when he spoke to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 17, 2012. He was subsequently arrested. At noon the same day, police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Second Police Station ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and some other personal belongings.

31. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Changying Arrested; Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Chen Changying was arrested on morning of May 28, 2012. Her whereabouts are unknown.

32. [Korla City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Ma Changying, Ms. Wu Xiuying and Ms. Liao Cuilian Arrested

Fang Ligong, an officer from the Kuqa County Domestic Security Division in Aksu City, together with local police officers from Korla, arrested 62-year-old Ms. Ma Changying on March 13, 2012. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and informational materials. At the same time, they also arrested Ms. Wu Xiuying, 72, and Ms. Liao Cuilian, 68; these two practitioners were later released.

33. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jiang Lijia and Ms. Yao Zhongying Arrested

Ms. Jiang Lijia was arrested at home at night on July 12, 2012. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Yao Zhongying was arrested in the beginning of July, when she went out to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong in Changzhou City. She has been detained since then.

34. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Yulian Arrested; Her Home Ransacked

Ms. Ma Yulian was recently followed and arrested. Her home was ransacked.

35. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Sent to Brainwashing Centers

Ms. Li Xuerong, Ms. Chang Yumei and two other practitioners from the Shengli Oil Field went to a market in Kenli County to explain the facts about Falun Gong to people on July 18, 2012. They were stopped by plainclothes police officers and arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Binbei Police Department.

Ms. Li Xuerong is being held at the brainwashing center located at the Oil and Gas Transportation Company, Shengli Oil Field. Ms. Chang Yumei and the other two practitioners are being held at the Shengcai Brainwashing Center, Shengli Oil Field.

36. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Arrested

Ms. Zhang from Pingyuan County was arrested by police on the morning of July 17, 2012, when she spoke to people about Falun Gong.

37. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yuming Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Yuming, a retired teacher of the Bohai Petroleum Professional Institute in Renqiu City, was tricked by security guards into going to the Domestic Security Division in the beginning of July 2012. There, she was arrested and taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center.
