Additional Persecution News from China – July 26, 2012 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties and in 12 provinces. According to this report, 21 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guixia Incarcerated in Liaoning Women's Prison

Ms. Zhang Guixia is from Xinbin County, Funshun City. Ms. Zhang, Ms. Qu Guiying, and Ms. Huang Yaguang were arrested for speaking with people about Falun Gong in Lizui Village at noon on March 9, 2011. They were taken to the Nangou Detention Center. Ms. Zhang has been on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention since August 3, 2011, and is very weak. She was sentenced to four years in prison and is being incarcerated in Liaoning Women's Prison.

Ms. Li Li and her husband, Mr. Wang Huanzhong, were reported and arrested in downtown Pingdu on the morning of July 24, 2012. They are being held at the Taishan Road Police Station.

3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] More Information on the Arrests of Ms. Zou Liumei and Three Other Practitioners

Ms. Zou Liumei, Ms. Li Fanglan, and two other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Jinxian County 610 Office and Lidu Police Station. All four practitioners are being held at the Jinxian County Detention Center.

4. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Baofu Arrested on Tourist Trip

Mr. Wang Baofu is a teacher at the Panjin No. 4 Middle School. He went on a tour with his colleagues to the Imperial Summer Villa of Chengde on July 23, 2012. When their tourist bus passed a highway checkpoint, the police checked their identification cards and arrested Mr. Wang because their information showed that he is a Falun Gong practitioner. Mr. Wang was picked up by local police station after five hours of detention.

5. [Beijing] Mr. Li Baoxing Abused at Xinmi Prison

Mr. Li Baoxing from Beijing was arrested in 2004 at a Falun Gong material production site in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and is being incarcerated at Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City. He has been monitored, deprived of sleep, and held in solitary confinement.

Mr. Wang Wenjun was arrested at Sanhe Power Plant on July 21, 2012.

7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Feng Yanjing and Ms. Sun Ruiping Arrested

Ms. Feng Yanjing, in her 50s, and Ms. Sun Ruiping, in her 40s, were reported for handing out Falun Gong informational materials in Dongjiazhuang Village, Xing'an Town, on the afternoon of March 25, 2012. They were arrested by officers from the Xing'an Town Police Station. Ms. Feng broke her arm while trying to escape the arrest.

8. [Yuxi City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Gui Chunli Arrested

Officers Zhu Jiayong and Wang Zhiming from the Yuxi Police Department and several officers from the Yudai Road Police Station went to Ms. Gui Qionghua's home and arrested her niece, Ms. Gui Chunli.

9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Aixian Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Wang Aixian was arrested by officers from the Xin'an Police Station on July 10, 2012, for handing out Shenyun Performing Arts DVDs. She was secretly taken to the Changchun Women's Forced Labor Camp on July 23 to serve one year and three months of forced labor.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Mu Taizhi Arrested

Mr. Mu Taizhi from Beichuan County was doing odd jobs in Bazhong City. He was arrested on July 25, 2012. His current whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Jiang Cuiping's Home Ransacked

Ms. Jiang Cuiping, 73, was arrested by officers from the Luyang District Domestic Security Division on July 23, 2012, while speaking with people about Falun Gong in a farmer's market in Hefei University of Technology. The police grabbed her keys, ransacked her home, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and informational materials. Ms. Jiang was picked up at 12:20 a.m. that night and taken home by her former employer.

12. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Dai Guandi and Ms. Zhong Yanying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Dai Guandi and Ms. Zhong Yanying were arrested by officers from the Shangyi Town Police Station on December 20, 2011. Ms. Dai was sentenced to six and a half years in prison, and Ms. Zhong was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

Mr. Xu Haiquan from the Jiansanjiang Farm went to the Qinglongshan Brainwashing Center to visit a detained practitioner on the morning of July 25, 2012. He was detained by the brainwashing center authorities.

14. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liao Xiaoping Taken to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Liao Xiaoping was arrested on July 4, 2012. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor and was taken to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp on July 25.

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Yu'an and Two Other Practitioners Taken to Hulan Prison

Mr. Zhao Yu'an, Mr. Zhang Baosheng, Ms. Wang Jinyu, and Ms. Cheng Baoying were given prison terms of seven years, five years, five years, and four years, respectively.

Mr. Zhao, Mr. Zhang, and Mr. Wang were taken to the Hulan Prison on May 25, 2012. Ms. Cheng is still being held at the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center.

16. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Wenzhong Arrested

Mr. Li Wenzhong was arrested at home by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station on July 25, 2012. The police confiscated his computer and printer and more than 1,000 yuan in cash.

17. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Yanqun Abused at Jilin Women's Prison

Ms. Song Yanqun has been on a hunger strike for more than 120 days at Jilin Women's Prison. Her family went to visit her last week but were not allowed to see her.

18. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiaoping was arrested on her way home by officers from the Weiyuan Road Police Station on the morning of July 24, 2012. She is being held in Taoshuping.

20. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Liu Xiuqin Arrested

Officers from the Xinhua Road Police Station went to Ms. Liu Xiuqin's home on the morning of July 25, 2012. The police ransacked Ms. Liu's home and arrested her.
