Additional Persecution News from China – August 23, 2012 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

On August 17, 2012, Ms. Pan was followed and arrested by plainclothes officers while she was distributing truth clarification materials. Her computer was confiscated. She is being detained at Harbin Second Detention Center.

2. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] More Information on the Arrests of Mr. Tan Degang and Ms. Fu Tianqun

On the afternoon of August 19, Mr. Tan Degang and Ms. Fu Tianqun were arrested by officers from Sihexiang Police Station while they were distributing truth clarification materials. The following afternoon, the police went to Mr. Tan's home and confiscated his computer, printer, and other items. On the morning of August 20, Mr. Tan and Ms. Fu were transferred to Neijing Detention Center by officers from the Neijing Domestic Security Division.

3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Information on the Arrest of Ms. Wang Fengzhen

On July 13, 2012, Ms. Wang Fengzhen from Daqing Tenth Oil Production Plant was arrested while she was distributing truth clarification materials. She was taken to Daqing Tenth Oil Production Plant Police Department and was later held at Zhaozhou County Detention Center for 15 days.

Several Falun Gong study groups in Chongqing downtown, Yangjiaping, Tuqiao, and Shiqiaopu were raided by police on August 19, 2012. Mr. Li Xiangdong; his wife, Ms. Zhaoyan; and others were arrested.

7. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cai Hongpo Illegally Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Mr. Cai Hongpo from Anshan City was illegally sentenced to 10 years in Prison on April 2012.

8. [Urümqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Hui, Ms. Zhong Yuxiu, and Mr. Xu Yongnian Arrested

Ms. Wang Hui, Ms. Zhong Yuxiu, and Mr. Xu Yongnian were arrested on August 8, 2012. All three practitioners' homes were ransacked and their computers and printers were confiscated. Ms. Wang is being held at Liudaowan Detention Center. Ms. Zhong and Mr. Xu's whereabouts are still unknown.

9. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Huan and Six Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gao Huan, Ms. Gao Xianghui, Mr. Li Huicheng, Mr. Zhang Bao, Ms. Sun Xiumin, Ms. Sun Xiuqing, and Mr. Liu Shujie were arrested at Xinli Village by four officers from Handian Town Police Station on August 21, 2012. They were held at Shuangcheng Detention Center. The officers confiscated the satellite dish from Ms. Gao Huan's house.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Yuan Xingfang Arrested

Ms. Yuan from the Shuangbei area in the Shapingba District was arrested on August 5, 2012, by a plainclothes officer while she was telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are still unknown.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Shengli Abused in Xinjian Prison

Mr. Xu from Shuiquan Village, Shuiquan Town in Shuangcheng City, was transferred to Xinjian Prison on August 22, 2012. Harbin Hulan Prison has refused to admit him three times in the past because he was very ill.

12. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Zhonglan and Ms. Wang Xiuqin Have Been Detained for Over 20 Days

Ms. Wang Zhonglan and Ms. Wang Xiuqin from Shawo Town in Qi County were arrested on July 26, 2012, by officers from Sisuolou Police Station for distributing truth clarification materials. They are both being held at Kaifeng Detention Center.

13. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yun Pu and Ms. Xiuqun Arrested

Mr. Yun Pu and Ms. Xiuqun from Qianzhuang Village, Dadi Town in Shenzhou City, were arrested on August 22, 2012, by personnel from the Dadi Town Government when they clarified the truth to people in Wulongtang Village.

14. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wei Shucai and Guo Yulian Held at Luoyang Detention Center

Ms. Wei Shucai and Ms. Guo Yulian from the Jianxi District were arrested by officers from Luolong District Police Department on August 21, 2012, for speaking with people about Falun Gong in the Luoyang New District. Both women are over 70 and are being held in the Luoyang Detention Center.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Qingxiang and Ms. Bi Xianglian Arrested

Mr. Zhang Qingxiang from Fu'an Town, Yushu City, was arrested on August 21, 2012. Ms. Bi Xianglian from Chengfa Town, Yushu City, was arrested the same day for clarifying the truth.

Ms. Li Zhongyan from Taicang City in Jiangsu Province was arrested on May 29, 2012, at Yan'an West Road in the Changning District in Shanghai.

17. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qian Aizhi Illegally Detained at Liaoning Women's Prison

Ms. Qian from Liaoyang City is being held in the Second Team, Third Prison District in Liaoning Women's Prison. The guards torture her by making her sit on a little stool for a very long time, etc.

18. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ma Hengchao Is Still Detained

Mr. Ma from Tangshan City was arrested on February 25, 2012, and his house was ransacked. He is being held at Tangshan No.1 Detention Center. His wife, a non-practitioner, was arrested with him but was released later.

Mr. Ma was illegally sentenced to 4 years and sacked from his job by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Tangshan City.

19. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Xilian Has Been Persecuted for 7 Years

Ms. Zhao was arrested on May 2005. She was illegally sentenced to 10 years at Xinxiang Women's Prison in Henan Province. She has been tortured for over 7 years and has suffered greatly both physically and mentally.

In May 2012, officials at Xinxiang Women's Prison wanted Ms. Zhao's relatives to bail her out on medical parole, but Xinxiang Women's Forced Labor Camp would not provide the medical certificate, so she could not be bailed out and is still in prison.

20. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wei Leijuan Arrested

Ms. Wei from the Futian District in Shenzhen City was arrested on April 24, 2012. She is being held in Futian Detention Center next to the Meilinguan area.

Ms. Huang Kaifeng was arrested in Daye City on August 15, 2012. She is being held in Daye Detention Center.

22. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lin Bo Persecuted for 9 Years, Now Has Kidney Failure

Mr. Lin Bo was arrested by the local police in 2003 and was illegally sentenced to 9 years in prison. He has been in Dongling Prison in Shenyan City, Liaoning Province. He has been persecuted so severely that he is suffering from kidney failure and now his whole body is swollen. Even in his severe condition, he is still monitored by two inmates. His family asked the prison to bail him out on medical parole, but prison officials refused.

Ms. Yang Benhui, Ms. Yang Ying, Ms. Xiao Wang, and Ms. Qu Yunxuan from the Jiulongpo District in Chongqing were arrested on August 18, 2012. Their personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Tang Meifang was taken to a brainwashing center by police on August 22, 2012. Ms. He Zhanfen was harassed and she has been pressured to leave her home.
