(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Brutally Tortured at the First and Second Prisons in Shenyang

Since March 2012, the First and Second Prisons in Shenyang intended to forcibly “transform” Falun Gong practitioners. The guards went to the practitioners' homes to interview their families and made a video recording of the interview. Then they played the videos while torturing the practitioners, shocking them with high voltage electric batons. The voltage was up to 40,000 volts and the guards used six electric batons at a time.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Shi Jinhua Detained

Ms. Shi Jinhua, 72, was arrested on June 4, 2010. She was sentenced to four years in prison on October 25, 2010. She is being detained and brutally tortured in Nanhui Prison in Shanghai. The guards ordered prisoners to beat her because she did not cooperate with the prison. She was forced to stand for a long time and once was tied to a death bed.

3. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information about Arrests of Ms. Liang Jinshu and Ms. Wang Xiaoju

Ms. Liang Jinshu from the Xiangfang District in Harbin was taken away from her home by police on July 5, 2012. Ms. Wang Xiaoju from Bin County was also taken away on the same day. Ms. Liang is now in the Xiangfang Detention Center while Ms. Wang is in the Harbin Second Detention Center.

4. [Yichun, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Cuiling Persecuted in the Yichun Brainwashing Center

On August 8, 2012, policeman Zhang Hu took Ms. Li Cuiling from Wumahe, Yichun, to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center. She was to be held for two years. The center refused to accept her because she had symptoms of a heart attack. The police then took her to the Yichun Brainwashing Center. The guards in the brainwashing center forced Ms. Li to watch videos defaming Falun Dafa. When she refused to look, the guards kicked her and fractured her ribs. Now Ms. Li is on a hunger strike.

5. [Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Pan Kaixiang Taken to the Xinchang Brainwashing Center

Mr. Pan Kaixiang was an associate professor at Zhejiang University. He was taken away from the store he owns by domestic security officers on August 9, 2012. He is being detained in the Xinchang Brainwashing Center.

6. [Dawa County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bai Sumin Arrested

Ms. Bai Sumin from Shuguang Village, Wangjia Town, Dawa, was seized by officers from the Beizhen Domestic Security Division on the morning of August 12, 2012. She is being detained in the Jinzhou Detention Center.

7. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liao Deying Arrested

On the morning of May 10, 2012, Yang Zihua and Xu Xin from the Miyi Domestic Security Division, as well as Zhang Xueqin from Binggu Town, broke into the home of Ms. Liao Deying in Xinhe. They ransacked her home and took her to the Miyi Police Department. She was interrogated in the police department and released at 5 p.m. that afternoon.

8. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Haibin Persecuted in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chen Haibin from the Jinzhou District in Dalian was picked up by officers from the Kunmingjie Police Station in Dalian on June 25, 2012. She was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for an 18-month term. She has already had stroke symptoms as a result of persecution in the forced labor camp.

9. [Dengfeng, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Changfa Arrested

On the night of August 11, 2012, Mr. Liu Changfa was taken into custody by Ma Changhai and other officers from the Dengfeng Domestic Security Division for distributing Falun Dafa materials. His home was ransacked. He is being detained in the Dengfeng Detention Center.

10. [Qingshui County, Gansu Province] Mr. Li Binglu Arrested

Mr. Li Binglu from Huangmen Township, Qingshui, was arrested by local police on the afternoon of August 8, 2012. He is being held in the local detention center.

Mr. Du Guolin attended a group hunger strike to protest the persecution at Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. He was transferred to the Fenjin Forced Labor Camp at the end of July 2012.

Ms. Yang Heimei from Chenxi County, Huaihua, was picked up by officers from the Huangxikou Police Station while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on August 11, 2012. She is being detained in the Chenxi Detention Center.
