(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Haidong, 36, was arrested for the second time on February 24, 2009, by officers from the Zunhua City Domestic Security Division and was subjected to brutal torture. He was illegally sentenced to five years in prison by officials at Zunhua Court in 2009 and is currently being held in the 1st Division at Jidong Prison. Mr. Li has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution for nine months, since mid-November 2011, and has been brutally force-fed.

Mr. Li's brothers, other relatives and the head of Xiaonianzhuang Village went to visit him at Jidong Prison on October 14, 2010. The guards gave them a hard time and made them wait for about an hour until they finally allowed them to see Mr. Li, who looked very pale, skinny and weak. Three inmates had to help him get to the visiting area of the prison, as he was too weak to walk by himself. He hardly had any strength to even speak.

Seeing Mr. Li in such poor health, the head of Xiaonianzhuang Village tried to get Mr. Li released on bail. However, team leader Yin and two others whose names are unknown would not allow it. One of them said ferociously, “We'd rather see him dead than release him. When he dies, we will call for the family members to come and collect the body.”

In 2002, Mr. Li was arrested and tortured by officers from the Zunhua Domestic Security Division. When he went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, he was forced to eat dog food. He was later sentenced to three years in Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan. Mr. Li was put in solitary confinement and was tortured in many ways by the guards, including Wang Yulin and Li Xiaozhong. After Mr. Li's sentence ended, agents from the local 610 Office arrested him again and took him to the Tangshan Textile University Brainwashing Center. Upon returning home, Mr. Li was fired from his job and had to borrow money to start a small rental business.
