Additional Persecution News from China – August 6, 2012 (22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 15 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Retired Teacher Ms. Pei Shanzhen's Detention Term Extended

Ms. Pei Shanzhen, a retired teacher from Shanghai, was taken into custody on June 14, 2012. She was supposed to be released on July 13, but was instead subjected to a one-month extension of the original detention term.

2. [Guizhou Province] Additional Information on the Recent Persecution of Practitioners in Guiyang City

Mr. Wang Tianyin, in his 60s, was arrested at his daughter’s home on April 13, 2012 by officials from the Guiyang City Domestic Security Division. The police ransacked his daughter’s home and took away 60,000 yuan in cash. Mr. Wang was then sent to the Baiyun District Detention Center in Guiyang City. Due to the torture he experienced there, he developed symptoms of high blood pressure and heart disease, and he was sent to a police hospital several days later. His family was forbidden to visit him. Rashes appeared on his back because he didn’t have clean clothes to wear.

Ms. Li Qing, Ms. Xiong Yan, Ms. Xie Guohua and Ms. Huang Lihong were arrested on the morning of April 13, 2012. Ms. Li was transferred to the Baiyun District Detention Center on April 19.

Other practitioners arrested in April 2012 include Mr. Chen Yonggao, Mr. Yang Chengang and Mr. Zhao Guibao. They are currently incarcerated in the Baiyun District Detention Center.

3. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Yanjiang Arrested

Mr. Xu Yanjiang from Shizhong District, about age 65, was arrested by officers from Ganshiqiao Police Station when he distributed Shen Yun DVDs on the afternoon of August 4, 2012. The police ransacked his home in the evening and took away Falun Gong books and a photograph of the founder of Falun Gong. He was transferred to the Dayinma Detention Center around 2:00 a.m. the next day.

4. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Feng Wenlong Subjected to Detention

Mr. Feng Wenlong from Andi Town was arrested and sent to the Andi Town Police Station on the afternoon of July 26, 2012. The next morning he was transferred to the Yinan County Detention Center and subjected to a 15-day detention.

5. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Jianhua Driven to Mental Disorder Due to Severe Torture

Mr. Wang Jianhua, about age 30, was arrested merely because he talked to people about Falun Gong on the Internet when he studied at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He was then sentenced to three years of imprisonment in 2009 and incarcerated in the Jinshi Prison in Changde City, where he suffered severe torture and was injected with toxic drugs that drove him to mental disorder. On July 20, 2012 he was released and returned home. He left his home the following day, and since then his whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Wang Ying was arrested when she distributed Shen Yun DVDs at a farmers’ market. She is currently detained in the basement of the Wuchang City Police Department.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Dianfu Arrested

Mr. Zhang Dianfu was arrested at his home on July 24, 2012.

8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Deng Shiguang Subjected to Forced Labor

Mr. Deng Shiguang from Xiwang Village, Fangzi District was arrested in early July 2012 and subjected to forced labor.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Additional Information on the Persecution of Ms. Tian Chunfang

Ms. Tian Chunfang, Ms. Li Jiulan and Ms. Liu Juzhen were arrested on May 19, 2012. Ms. Tian was sent to the First Detention Center. Ms. Li and Ms. Liu were taken to the Hubei Province Law Center. Ms. Tian was released on bail in mid-June. But on July 5, she was arrested again and sent to the Banqiao Brainwashing Center. So far she has been detained for more than a month.

10. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lei Guiling and Ms. Wang Qin Detained

Ms. Lei Guiling from Taoxu Town and Ms. Wang Qin from Daigu Town were arrested by officers from the Mengshan Police Station on the afternoon of August 3, 2012. They were first held in the Mengshan Police Station and then transferred to the Taoxu Police Station.

On the morning of August 4, officials from the Taoxu Police Station sent the two practitioners to the Mengyin First Hospital for physical examinations. Then they transferred the practitioners to the Linyi City Detention Center.

11. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Lichun and Mr. Yang Liqun Detained for Over One Month

Ms. Yang Lichun and her brother Mr. Yang Liqun, who is not a practitioner, continue to be held in the Xinxiang City Detention Center. So far they have been detained for more than one month.

13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Bian Xuri Passed Away Due to the Brutal Torture He Suffered

Mr. Bian Xuri, 32, was arrested and taken to the Gaocheng Detention Center by Gaocheng 610 Office agents at the end of November 2011. After a month, he was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Brainwashing Center and subjected to brutal torture that seriously damaged his physical health. Due to the severe torture he suffered, his physical condition became worse and worse, and he passed away on July 20, 2012.

Mr. Tu Weinan was arrested by officers at Cuiwei Road Police Station when he clarified the truth about Falun Gong on July 31, 2012. He is currently incarcerated in the Taojialing Detention Center.

A number of painclothes police followed Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen in May 2012. They arrested her at her home and confiscated her personal belongings.

18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lv Hong Sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Lv Hong was arrested and sent to a detention center by officers from the Nanjing Police Station when she distributed truth-clarification materials on May 28, 2012. On June 17, she was transferred to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City and sentenced to one year of forced labor.

19. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] A Number of Practitioners Arrested

A number of practitioners were taken into custody since July 27, 2012, including Mr. Fang Qiang, Ms. Zhu Yujiao, Ms. Liu Ping, Mr. Xiong Xiaolin, Mr. Huang Hailin, Ms. Yang Yunxia, Mr. Zhang Xuming and Ms. Zhang Guihua.

Mr. Fang Qiang is currently held in the Baguazui Detention Center in Huangshi City. Mr. Huang Hailin is incarcerated in the Daye City Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Guihua is detained in the brainwashing center of the Hubei Province Law Center.

20. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Xiuzhen Arrested

On the afternoon of July 31, 2012, agents from the Jinzhou City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Lu Xiuzhen’s home and arrested her and sent her to a detention center. They ransacked her home and took away many of her personal belongings, including three computers, a color inkjet printer, a CD/DVD writer, cell phones, necklaces and Falun Gong books. One day later, Ms. Lu appeared to have serious physical problems and was sent to the intensive care unit of the Jinzhou City Third Affiliated Hospital. She is currently still in the hospital in intensive care.

Mr. Chen Jingqing from the First Oilfield Building Company of the Shengli Oilfield was arrested and sent to the Oilfield Brainwashing Center on the morning of August 3, 2012.

Ms. Sun Aiqin from the Shengli Oilfield was taken into custody when she informed people of the persecution against Falun Gong on the early morning of August 6, 2012.
